cobraman
Wanted to build something different so found this on ebay and thought I would give it a try. Posted it here but I guess could be in Big Boys because it is 1/20 scale. Or the Drag section because it is a dragster. Or even Everything Else. If it needs to be moved please do so. Thanks
Mopar - D
I built one of these when I was a kid many years ago. It's a cool kit. What color are you going to use?
cobraman
Plan to use red and build is as it is on the box.

RatRod
Had one as a kid, and was dumb founded when R-2 reissued it. Built this one in '08 when it came back..... A fairly simple build, but the tracks need a little extra work, I used a heated screw driver to mount all the bogie wheels, and you really need to replace the rear axle shaft with aluminum rod, as the plastic kit piece can't take the pressure of the assembled track. Good luck Ray, you don't see many built, but you can do this!!!
cobraman
Thanks for the tip. I hope mine will look half as good as your. Very nice work.
jet
That kit sat next to my TNT440 snowmobile kit on my dresser for a long time. It does have some issues but its a great subject. I grew up down the road from a Mercury snowmobile test ground and the guy who ran it showed me the shop one day, and his scars from a sled he built very close to that, only not V8 powered. Drag racing snowmobiles were his gig.

Mike 1017
I never saw one of these before. Looks like a very fun kit to build. This would make a KOOL Santa Sleigh. Santa figure ,presents ornaments, and whatever else to make in to a Christmas Sleigh. Good luck Mike .
Ace-Garageguy
Looks great, Ray. Looks like a lot of fun too. Very seasonally-appropriate. Glad to know where there's a 1/20 scale quick-change rear end available. The induction setup looks like Weber carbs or injection to me. How's the detail up close? And any indication of what the engine is supposed to be? The intake port spacing, valve covers and the even spacing of the exhaust ports look big-block Chevy. Maybe the engine tooling is from the 1/20 MPC McLaren, perhaps? Edited December 27, 2014 by Ace-Garageguy

cobraman
Thanks guys. Bill the engine is a Ford 302 or is supposed to be. Detail is not that great to be honest.

cobraman
This "thing " is almost done. Thinking of putting it on a snow covered base. Looks kind of stupid otherwise IMO.
