hamlyn
I am a beginner. I wish to paint a scale model I am building with these colors. What is the best way to achieve these results? Thanks in advance
DrGlueblob
Is the bug's backside clear plastic? We can go from there..
hamlyn
It is not. It's aluminum.
DrGlueblob
Go to Michael's and look for some imitation gold leaf. There are ones in red, green, and "verigated". Using Alieen's Tacky Glue, apply the leaf over the aluminum in the design you want. Let dry. Then brush a few coats of Future over it. my80malibu
Are you asking for the color or the effect?

Skip
Agree with the variegated leaf, but use the leaf "size" (adhesive) recommended by the manufacturer plus their clear sealer. I think I've seen the Kits in Michael's and Hobby Lobby with the size and sealer in them. If you want a higher grade, as in for more money, variegated leaf, size and sealer look for it in a sign supply shop. One Shot makes Gilding supplies, the leaf is thinner at sign suppliers as well.
