MCM Ohana

MCM Ohana (6/6)

  1. Stops anxiety in its tracks by stimulating GABA receptors
  2. Style Council was a New Wave [ et alia ] band which was borne out of The Jam by Paul Weller, whose version of Harvest for the World [ Isley Brothers ] is quite lovely
  3. Speaking only of the body style : the Supernatural version is a four door hardtop ( Sports Sedan in Chevrolet nomenclature ) , whereas the police/taxi (9C1 , etc.) models were four door sedans (framed door glass and "complete" B-pillar).
  4. Bed is where John Lennon stays when he floats upstream when he's only sleeping
  5. Another gem from the Notorious sessions of mid-late 1967. This is Mc Guinn fooling around with the then-new Moog synthesiser - a 9,000$ instrument ! The Moog was used extensively on Notorious (and to a lesser extent on other Byrds albums) - one of the first "Pop" (Rock) albums to feature the instrument ( The Monkees Pieces, Aquarius, Capricorn & Jones, Ltd. was released in November 1967, beating the Byrds album by a couple of months ). Without further ado :
  6. An "incomplete" recording ; a studio instrumental from Summer or Autumn 1967. Chris Hillman took the song to Manassas who recorded a slower-tempo, vocals-included version for their 1972 self-titled album. I'm keen on this up-tempo take - too bad that it never received a vocal treatment.
  7. I can't be the only one who misread this as "prostate" initially. 😁
  8. That would make it a 1961 & earlier engine, hein ? PCV came along in 1961 (California) and 1962 (49-state). Some early PVC valves were on the intake manifold.
  9. I've always been partial to the Yukon Territory and Northwest Territories licence plates :
  10. That's the 1973-1974 panel, sans embellishment. Practically every 1975-1976 Dart Sport had the brightwork , even the most basic trim level. I've said this before and I'll say it again: I wish that one of the resin casters would make not only a filler for the '75-'76 Sports , but also a 1973-1974 grille.
  11. Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll is a fun song by Ian Dury and the Blockheads
  12. With the announcement of the M-Series of The Great White North : how's about some Acadians , Beaumonts, and the 1971-1972 Swinger Special 340 , eh ?
  13. One of the most obvious items which make a "64 1/2" stand out is the lack of 'reverse' lamps. Those weren't mandated until 01/01/1965 (e.g., some early-production 1965 cars didn't 'reverse' lamps -- Landy's 1965 Coronet S/S -come- AWB has one tail lamp with the 'reverse' lamp, and the other one without. That was done out of necessity ; but that's another story). IIRC, the 260 V8 was the only (standard ?) V8 . Perhaps all high-perf iterations were actually 289 ?
  14. Thoughts and Words by Chris Hillman on The Byrds Younger Than Yesterday sounds its best in the mono mix
  15. One of my favourite examples of the 385 is the 505 cube stroker in the Sudden Death Mustang .
