Billy Kingsley
That's a great kit. I looked at the parts for 20 minutes or so, just taking them all in. I'm looking forward to getting started on it. Some Questions: Is anyone doing decals for it? Nothing against College Park MD, but I'd prefer to build a truck of someplace I'm a little more familiar with, someplace I've been, actually. I'd really like to get them for Peekskill, NY, as my dad, grandfather and several uncles were not only members of the force, but captains. That weird yellow some companys use...is there a good paint match for that? The instructions mention tubing. I didn't see that in my kit. Did I get short changed, did I miss it, do you supply that yourself? I'm sure I'll think of some more as I go along. I also created a Fire Trucks album on my Fotki. It has pictures from two times they have been in my neighboorhood and one from the mid 70s my mom took. Eventually it will have pictures from a Firemans' convention we went to in 02 or 03. http://public.fotki.com/ElCaminoBilly/real_cars/fire_trucks/
Aaronw
There are companies that make decals, chimneyville is one I know of http://www.chimneyvilledecals.com/index.html You can also make your own, if you get a good quality photo of the door seal. The only good "slime green" I have seen people use is actualy automotive paint. You are about as far as I've got so I don't know about the tubing. If you need ideas I've got a website for emergency vehicles, there are a couple of San Francisco ALF's that I want to build from the Trumpeter kit after I've built one OOB. http://www.geocities.com/cnf_e32/index.htm
dieseldoc
In one of the plastic bags there is a short clear piece of plastic tubing approimately 5/16" diameter.
