67' Chevy Biscayne

Here's something I've been messing around with for a few days. I decided to do a Biscayne conversion using the AMT 67' Impala kit since my step dad has a 1:1 Biscayne that used to belong to my Grandpa. So far I've removed the fastback roof and replaced it with a modified one from a 69' Camaro to match the Biscayne's roofline. I also cut a new rear window and added correct body seams based off of measurements I took off of the 1:1 car. I still have more work to do but I think it's starting to take shape.

Thanks for looking! Let me know what you think.

Now this is an ambitious project that will certainly raise your level of experience and building skills, Bill!!! It will be an unusual model when done and may I ask if you have considered building a second one to offer to a quality resin caster? Getting things into their proper shape and place is a time consuming job at the best of times but this is looking good and accurate! Do you have photos of how you sectioned the roof? It would be interesting to see the steps. Keep up the good work as I am sure that a lot of people will be following your progress.

You're doing a great job on your conversion. The fun will come when you get to the "post" and the window moldings. The side glass has a frame and molding around them. You might look at using some "L" shaped plastic from Plastruct for this, as it would also give you a way to install window glass from the inside. I had owned a new '68 Bel Air tudor which I think was the same other than the grill and rear bumpers. I also would never of thought of the Camaro roof for the rear window, but it looks dead on to me.
