Nick Winter Posted June 2, 2009 Share Posted June 2, 2009 I'm 13, my dad originally got me into model building to keep me out of trouble, I was a little bit of a hell raiser back in the day. I love to hunt and fish. Now you old timers don't think just because I'm young that I'm inexsperienced, infact I've been building for about 5-6 years now, and I've built around to this day around 30-40 models most of which have been built recently (last 3-4 years), others from the early days that have been reincarnated or rebuilt. I have a pretty basic building style, pickups, vans, pontiacs, and chevy's of all sorts. Most of the trucks I build are two- wheel drive, I don't know why, I've bought 4x4's and then I end up converting them to 2 wheel drives, don't ask me why, because to be truly honest I have no freakin' clue why. back to me I also have been learning to be a mechanic, you know the usual welding,metal work, paint, body, engine, chassis, interior. I play a little football around here. I'm a big guy and I work out and such, track is not my favorite thing but hey if it needs to be done do it right, I also restore type writers. I have my own work shop in the fernice room in my humble home. I recently took posestion of a house trailer, My grandfather gave it to me around two years ago, it's a 1978 prowler 24 foot tandem axle trailer. I love it. My grandfather and i also work on small engines together which is a real learning exsperience I tell you. I have three siblings, 2 sisters and a brother all older than me, one sister married, the other two are in relastionships and happy. My mom's a school bus driver, my dad's retired. I'm the yougest of the kids, the last. My name is Nicholas J. Winter. Here's some pictures of my trailer guys, I soon hope to tackle a scratch built version of it. I love your batchlor pad and the view you wake up to is like paradise to me. Being from Southern California your winters in Canada would kill me. LOL I'm a lightweight about cold weather, 50 degrees and I'm bundled up with blankets. I bet I can handle 100 degrees longer than you though. LOL Take care, and see ya around the forum. Thanks for the warm welcome, I love my view it is paradise, not bad fishing either, heck I could have got me a buck a couple of weeks ago right across from the dock an the island on the other side of the water there. Thank Kevin, Hey why not were freinds aren't we , Yeah that honey comb as I call it has been well maintained by my grandfather and me ever since he had it and since I was around 2 or 3. Well here's a little more back story on my Prowler, Back in the fall of 1978 a couple bought it to travel to Florida, after returning in the spring of 1979, they relized that the trailer life wasn't for them, thus they put her up for sale, they lived in Scarborugh, near Toronto, and at this time my granpa was working in Toronto as a bank manager for the Royal bank, on his way home he seen the trailer and bought it the next day he borowed a pickup from a freind and hauled it home and the rest is history. Some of the stuff i learned was that it was sold at King city trailers, in King City Ontario, It sleeps 6 and has a full bath, 4 burner range, reese hitch and stablizers aswell as reese lift on the front.
