  1. Cool build. The Pony wheels on GTs & normal 5.0 LXs were all painted silver from Ford. The Chrome ponys were originally exclusive to the Chrome Yellow 1993 Summer Special Edition or Feature cars. There 1503 of these built. Ford also made 1500 White SSEs which had white painted Pony wheels - except for 1 documented car that was ordered with the chrome ponys. These cars were based on the 5.0 LX convertible. 1992 Ford made the Feature Mustangs in Vibrant Red with the white Pony wheels. Pony wheels are still a popular addition to 4 lug Mustangs and are still sold new. http://www.triplewhitefox.com/mustang/ My 1985 Vert with Ponys. http://s300.photobucket.com/albums/nn38/GregDvsn/1985%20LX%20vert/
  2. Used to know a guy who had a Gremlin X - think it was a 71 (this was back about 1977). Had a 401 and a 4 speed, it made ALOT of people stop laughing at them back then. Fun, fast ride. They were definitely no slouch with a 304 either.
  3. B Dub, the 5 speed 85 GTs were a serious turning point for the Fox Chassis Mustang. Those are the first roller cam 5.0 cars, there aren't alot of them left around - all original cars like my 9L (Oxford White) are VERY rare. They were also the last Mustang built with no 3rd brake light, and a carburetor. I wouldn't do anything to that car you can't restore to original if it were me. They WILL appreciate.
  4. Rob, & Midnight - you and Rob's brother may want to look here. http://vb.foureyedpride.com
  5. Cool build. You are into full size 4 eyes too. How about these;
  6. I bought a Revell duece for the wheels recently (needed them for my Uni). I am not doing it rat but your build made me say"What the heck - I have it" I so far have gotten it channeled. Very cool build you did there - I like it.
  7. I'll throw in with my 62 Uni if you want it. Only thing is I already started the build, it's a replica of my full size truck which is definitely street driven.
  8. I don't see anything wrong with it, I wish my work was nice enough to appreciate that close, lol. Like was stated - it's the guy's opinion - where better to discuss it than in a forum where the median on topic IMHO? I use a pair of +150 reading glasses to build - I may not be able to without them (or else things would take 3 -4 times as long, lol). There are some weird things in RC scale judging too, the subject is in one judged on "outline" now this is compared to the 3 views used to build the model not to example the factory blueprints. Static Scale scale planes seem to be just the opposite, there you either mod or it partially comes down to who built with the right kit. I remember years ago what I started as just a discussion with a guy. I who come from RC Scale and the 1:1 world in aircraft had made the point that WWI planes unless weathered & faded would have a slight semi gloss or sheen to the fabric & dope covering, I have worked with the stuff. There is an enormous amount of photographic evidence also, I am very well acquainted with the effect of lithography on the look of a photo too, I was was a printer for 17 years. Most RC scale contest winners in WWI don't have a pure flat sheen either - aside from the weird outline rule there, all comparisons are done to full scale. This other guy got just plain mad insisting that I was out of my mind and was an idiot. He is considered by many to be one of the best WWI plastic modelers out there. I made it very clear I wasn't criticizing, just thought it may be a good discussion. This was over 10 years ago - I grew tired of the "politics" and stopped going to my local IPMS, after that some treated me rather "different" - I had questioned "God" in church it seemed like. I personally just thought we missed out on what could have been a good discussion.
  9. Got the wheels done, fit them with the other body - perfect. Masked it for the Aqua and sprayed it - cross your fingers, lol. I want a red pinstripe between the colours, any suggestions? Will need to be about 1/32 thick or maybe less. The 1:1 Uni will have one when it gets final paint too.
  10. The 32 kit arrived the other day (Thanks Again Dave!). I am today painting the wheel backs and inserting brass tubing & plastic sleeve from a flexible control rod (Nyrod) made for RC planes so they will fit the steel axles for the Uni's chassis. I could have drilled out the chassis for bigger axles but the front one runs through the engine and the chassis is built so I went this route. I had to find some different rear tires too in my junkyard, the 32 kit ones are WAY too tall for my truck, lol. Body has been painted with the white color coats, now to mask it for the Aqua. Interior tub is done, it was in pretty bad shape so it looks "OK" but not incredible. Looks like I have a duece roadster kit to build something with now too - it WILL be traditional, (now where did I put that flatty?).
  11. I also do RC planes. 1/4 scale in that world is 1/4 of full size. I am "sort of" building (years long project) a WWI Morane Saulnier A1 in 1/4 scale - 84 inch wingspan. the A1 is a single engine fighter from 1918.
  12. Looking mostly for a pair of Lakes Pipes right now but more stuff would be cool too.
  13. I'd vote Y block, but I am a Y block nut in 1:1 too, 3 dueces, 2x4s, 6 97s, zoomie headers. I have one here in 1/25 I am building with a roots blower on it for a traditional rod model. I am doing this one backwards - building the model first then the full size car.
  14. The ones on the Red coupe I was talking about are actually right on - the ones on my truck are missing the center caps. LOL, I bought those wheels brand new right after they ended production, American Racing had also discontinued the center caps (which are sold separate) and I couldn't get a set. There is company that Summit Racing sells that has a similar one though. I just have too much other work to do on the truck to worry about center caps right now. I'll grab a set when I get to it. Funny thing is my truck is sort of a rat/suede rod, almost has a certain cool without them too.
  15. Dave, Where did you find those wheels on the red coupe? Those look exactly like what's on my 62 Uni. I had to use slots on my model which are "sorta close". Thank You
