James2
Thought I'd start the new calender year with a WIP, this the AMT Texaco 3100 pick up kit. So far I've: Shortened the bed 6 scale inches, smoothed the body and removed all hardware, re-skinned the tailgate, added an Olds front bumper, swapped the headlights and set it on some nice Caddy wheels and white wall tires. The real change will be the chassis, it will have running/rolling gear from a "67" Corvette. Edited March 22, 2015 by James2

bpletcher55
James I like what you have done so far . is that rear bumper off the amt 55/57 chevy ?
James2
Thanks Blair, and it is. I shortened it and reshaped the ends some. Not sure if I like it yet, might be to much bumper...
James2
Just a little mock up with the 427 and I believe some Camaro seats and console. If you notice I glued up the body completely. So in order to fit the interior I cut a section out of the back to allow the tub to squeeze in place. That allows me to do all the body work and paint before final assembly. I will say it is tight but fits nicely. I'll try something with those door panels next. James2
Worked on the interior some, made new door panels from styrene and removed the latch and crank from a 32 Ford interior. Got the seats sitting nicely also.
bpletcher55
looks good JAMES , did you remove the window and door handles from the revel 32 ,s or use resin handles for a 32 ford ? it looks awesome .

James2
Thanks guys, yes Blair I reversed the curve of the panels and then sliced slowly with a #11. Be careful not to lose a finger but don't let the piece get away!

James2
Here is the interior, a little old and new mixed together. I might add some belts or something but I'm happy with it. They are hard to see once in the body anyway.
72 Charger
Looking great James . I like the new rear windows ,How did you cut them out?
James2
Thanks Dave, I wish I had thought of that but that was GM's idea. Here's a shot of the engine bay, not that hard to shoe horn in there. I even managed to use the stock exhaust manifolds.
slusher
I really like the interior. Real nice touch on the shifter..
