Hudson-powered '41 Chevy "Bobber" Pickup

Recommended Posts

My most recent completion, which I actually started a couple of years ago. My main inspiration was the "Nashty Habit" coupe... high-mounted supercharged engine, horizontal radiator, metallic paint (Testors One Coat Bronze) but with no polishing or clearcoat. I left the bodywork less-than-perfect in a few spots on purpose. It's basically a hodge-podge of stuff, though I can tell you the pulleys are from Machined Aluminum Specialties (belt is black electrical tape), the MSD ignition box is from Morgan Automotive Detail, and the pulley faces are from Detail Resources. I just felt compelled to slap some Rat Fink decals on it, too.

Now that is a cool old pickup Chuck! Do you have a photo of the other side of the engine? I'd like to see the blower and intake setup.

Just has a "stock-ish" exhaust setup... I was going to run straight pipes out the side, but I figured the thing was over-the-top enough as it is. Blower manifold is a heavily-modified kit piece

What made you think of the "under slung" front suspension. A lot of good looking engineering went into this. Great looking build.

I went underslung on the front just because I wanted the thing to sit ridiculously low. Rear suspension is mostly stock '41 Chevy, but the frame is Z'd just behind the cab.
