Cabover Kits- What's Available and Which One's the Best?

Recommended Posts

If you can get your hands on an ERTL Transtar Co4070 or Transtar II, they have got to be one of the best COE kits around. Easy to build with good castings, a cab that goes on the frame without a fuss and installs level and sturdy, no guess work to align the whole thing together. To top it all off, the kit has a poseable front steering axle that is easy to put together too. AND you end up with a great looking truck. I have pretty much built every single American cabover that AMT, Revell and ERTL produced and the ERTL kits along with the Revell Kenworth Aerodyne are at the top of my list. They may be a little expensive now, but I think you won't regret it.

As metion by BigBad, ERTL excellent Transtar Eagle II, &...

Revell (US) fantastic KW K100 Aerodyne, of 1982, are also to me the 2 greatest 1/25th plasticCOE truck kit ever.

Was particularly impresed by Revell outsatnding K100 kit, quite impresive back then, can't uderstand why Revell US doesn't reissue the original 1982 edition of such a great kit:
