What did you see on the road today?

Recommended Posts

I saw an alternator, fan belt, bumper, and mirror from a car. The alternator want rusted and I hadn't heard of any crashes around there... O__o

I've always been amazed at the car parts in the shoulder of the road. In NJ, sitting in stop and go traffic, scanning the junk in the shoulder is done out of boredom. I recognize the parts that fall off cars, or are broken off in crashes.. but an alternator? I've also seen drive shafts, brake drums and other parts a car wouldn't go any further without. I'm thinking that some of this has fallen off scrap trucks.

The scary stuff? Ladders! I see a lot of those contractor trucks with a lot of ladders and scaffolding stacked on the roof. I realize that it was all put up there by tired men at the end of a work day. And when I see mangled ladders in the shoulder, I know how it happened. And I don't wish to be anywhere near those trucks when it does!

I saw a Saturn sedan the other day with a full size riding lawn mower in the trunk, held up by half a million ratchet straps. Good thing we weren't on the road behind it! Edited by chunkypeanutbutter

Well, back on July 11th this year, I saw 5200 hot rods, customs, classics, muscle cars, etc, etc...the Hot Rod power tour that came through Crown Point ! Geez, I've never seen so many cool cars in one place like that in my life! I wore myself out walking around looking at 'em! That was a blast!

I saw this Camaro in a parking lot a couple of days ago. I'm wondering what changes the H/O package includes.

I was driving into town this morning and noticed the Willys grille through the window so I had to go around the block. I'm glad I did.

A 43? Willys.

This one is a nice "in progress" pickup.

Tom, they did not make a Willys in 43 they were making Jeeps for the war here in Toledo( my grandfather worked there before and during the war). I do believe that is a 41 because it has the wipers on the bottom of the window, but it does not have a split grill. They could have changed that though. Those are the parts I get messed up on what is what for each year.

Few years back, we had a moron lose a washing machine off the back of his pickup. Following car hit it, people died. Moron fled the scene.

Moron got caught. He'd just bought it at Home Despot and the sales slip was in the machine, with his name and address.

Congratulations! You are one of the few members here who didn't say "loose" a washing machine.

I swear, I think that maybe it's some sort of rule that everyone who builds model cars isn't allowed to know the difference between "lose" and "loose!"

You can lose your keys... and your pants can be too loose... but you cant "loose" your keys! ;)
