I think I found a couple of die cast Simca 1000 models. A road and rally version, both in 1/24 th scale. The reason I am looking is because I used to own one back in the Sixties that I tuned up a bit and have a desire to make a model of my old car.

You are right there David! It is often the challenges of a longer term build, adding details and refining kit items that give the most satisfaction. My personal main interest is in building models of older cars and why I am following this particular build. It is really coming along well and fascinating to see how you are overcoming things and tackling it generally. It certainly will be a very nice model to be proud of when it is finished.

The Bond DB5 really interests me but at present can only be bought as a part series. I will wait a bit as it will probably eventually become available as a full kit. the IXO Collections Bugatti Atlantic is very tempting I have to say right now.

It is really nice to come back to something you enjoyed in the past, so welcome! There are plenty of helpful people on here all sharing their interest and helping others returning to the hobby as so much has changed down the years.

Thanks for the info Bruce. I looked on the Agora stand at IPMS UK SMW show at Telford last year but did not see the 250 LM on it. The later JB DB5 looked really interesting to me as did the Cobra and E Type. You are in a privileged position getting to build models for the company and keeping them afterwards. Getting the 250LM complete kit for 500 dollars was quite a coup! I reckon you must have a charmed life with those big kits! I will be following your build of this model.

Had a look at your old post Helmut. Really nice restoration. That particular Ferrari really appeals to me as it is a really gorgeous looking car. I will have to see if I can find a copy of that old kit of it somewhere.

Interesting project Bruce. Looks like one of those part series models judging by the photo of a number of packs. You did not mention the manufacturer though.

I would imagine the blades are integral as they are described ending disposable.

Helmut, thanks for your reply with the information and the link you placed in your post. Much appreciated. I had another look at your Italeri Ferrari California Spyder picture. You have made a lovely job of detailing and painting it, and the wire wheels that you replaced on it really look good on the car.

Nice models all round! I used to own a Simca 1000 back in the 60's. What scale is your model? Is it 1/24th scale? I would like to know who makes it so that I can get one and make a model of my old car.

Could not open the pictures. Any chance of loading them differently?

That Deusie is a really interesting model. Back in the day it was a real pity that the old Pocher Company never made a Duesenberg SJ Phaeton kit in 1/8th scale. I reckon it would have made a killing in the American market at the time.

Was not aware of that DeAgostini kit Bruch. Thanks for putting up the pictures. Ken's Trumpeter GT40 is really benefiting from the extra work being put in and I will be continuing to follow this build.
