Dragline
Super tight....... Those old Revell kits are still great. I have a couple in the queue. Got a Snake Vega and a Snowman Charger. Now, I just need to quit my job and build cars all day. I can dream........................ Well done. Bob F

gseeds
Hondo, what agreat build, this has always been my all time fav funnycar, when i was a kid i saw it blow up at lions drag strip, when i was about 12 or 13, my buddy grabbed the injector and sold it for 15 bucks before we even got out of the track and i grabbed a chunk of the body, if i remember rite it was the front fender half way trough the wheel well and about 2 feet back to the door, my mom threw it in the trash sone after getting it home. moms!! i belive it was at the last drag race for lions. Hondo
Thanks guys....... gseeds, That would've been cool to have a piece of the BS Vega. Too bad Mom tossed it. Foster was probably my favorite driver too. He was fast..... At the "Last Drag Race" at Lions in Dec. 1972 (McEwen won over Prudhomme), Foster was the No. 1 qualifier, but crashed off the end of the track on that run when the chutes came off the car. He didn't race due to the damage. IIRC...... But, he was fast a lot and blew up a lot too........... Hi Gang, for a report on The Last Drag Race at Lions dig out a copy of HOT ROD from Feb 1973. This was the first magazine I ever read about hot rods and drags. Though I was not there and had never seen a drag race I found this a very nostalgic feature The mag has a great cover too which made me buy it. Custom Hearse
I love your builds! I used to go to OCIR with my stepdad when I was a kid and watch all the funny cars race, including Setzer. Your builds always take me back to the great old days of racing! Awesome work!

Your builds always take me back to the great old days of racing! Awesome work! Thanks, CH....... Some great tracks around the SoCal area back then. Glad you like this one. The funny cars from this era were the best, IMO. Stay tuned for more.............. Hondo
Custom Hearse
Cool! I look forward to seeing more of your builds. It sucks they turned OCIR into a housing development, but, such is life....

Hondo
beaut......I have a jungle jim vega that after thinking i decided to do this car....mine will hahe the early rims instead the centerlines. LOVE THE STAND...HOPR MINE IS AS HALF AS GOOD. I'll have to decide which funny car to enter in the contest. I have a few ideas....... I thought about using the American 5 spokes on the front of my BS Vega. Decided on the Comp Resin "Cragar SuperTricks" that they ran on the later version. Let me know if you need any reference pix on the BS car. Thanks for noticing the stand, I make mine, depending on the length needed. 808 Nitro
Nice job. I just recently got a original MPC Barry Setzer Vega Funny Car kit and the body is really out of proportion. Looks too small/short and the roof is too flat. Using the Revell Vega kit like you did is the way to go. Its also easier and cheaper to get that kit than a MPC one.
