larrygre
Hey guys - anyone know the name and factory code of the steel blue color used on the 1984 Monte Carlo SS? First year Monte SSs were only available in white or that blue. Thanks!
ismaelg
Larry, I'm not 100% sure but I think you are looking for Light French Blue Metallic (91) RPO 27U color code 7686 but again, I'm not 100% sure.... Thanks,
larrygre
Izzy you were right on the money. The color goes by several names, I found it as Medium Dark Royal Blue, GM CODE 27U WA-7686. Duplicolor lists a 5 ounce spray as DS GM 328. Thanks!
ramonesblues
The wa designation denoted water based paints. Code 22 and 27 were the worst colors for peeling and i repainted at least a thousand of those cars. I used to keep the colors in stock at least a gallon at a time.In '84, waterborne paints were garbage.
lordairgtar
Which explains why you see so many GM cars of that vintage pealing right down to the primer.
