Ok Fellas... I got a couple more things done to the body cart. I got the brackets made for the front and rear to sit on as well as drilling the hole thru the long support for the end pieces. I may tinker a little more with this but since I ran out of some tubing I will be moving onto something else on this build back to the body and I will be dusting something off the shelf and getting back to it as well.

Here are a few shots of tonight's progress

Here I bent some flat brass stock that I had which will hold the front inner support braces on the car:

Then I worked on getting the rear support mounts fabricated and soldered on:

Here is how the back sits on the new brackets:

And here is how the front will sit on the cart as well:

Gabe... thank you

John... thanks brother.

Brad... thank you. Now I am trying to figure out what cor would look best. I was thinking of a steel color to look like raw metal or do I oaint it black or some other color. Not sure which companybmakes the best steel color. I could also go House Of Kolor silver base and tint it with some black in it.... hmm what to do...lol

That's really fine work, Chris! The Body Cart is looking excellent, especially now when you installed the brackets on it. That's a great idea to use to display these Funny Cars, especially when you're doing so great work with this one, it'd be a shame to cover that chassis. But now that's not a problem. :D Excellent work as always.

I don't reply very often, but I am watching Chris. I just don't know what to say most times. You have the patients of 100 modelers put together. How you've been able to get to a level this high, and stay at it for this long without distraction is amazing.

Keep going, you're in the homestretch now!

Niko... Thank you my friend. I had to have a cool way for it to be displayed and be able to see the under body supports

Clay... Thank you so much for posting what you did, it is an absolute honor and it means a lot coming from you. I really appreciate it and it gives me that extra fire and push to get this build completed. As I mentioned in your Pro Mod build, I have admired your work and talent for years. I will be honest it has been tough always trying to stay focused on this build because I have many others I want to start but I really want to get this one done and completed first. You are right that I am in the home stretch now and I can see that light at the end of the tunnel. Thank you for following along on this build.

Scott... Thank you so much my friend.

Joe...Thank you. Hey when I get home from Church I will post some pictured of the door holders I have shot at the drags I have gone too. I have pics from a Vegas race and some from Races here in AZ.

Ray... Thank you my friend. I appreciate the kind words. You know it..... I will be bringing it to the Desert Scale Classic next month with as much as I can get done to it before then. I have hopes of having the body in primer and maybe even a little more engine work done to it as well. I also have another build that I may try to bring... ;)

Chris, I have been lurking around and following your build for some time...you are most creative and setting examples that are hard to follow but will be fun trying...I have enjoyed watching this build to see the finished car, but you add more and then I want to see what else will follow...love your work. Larry... Thanks for the nice and kind words. Also for following along with this build. This whole build I have been pushing myself to go farther than I ever have before with building and Its been fun. I also enjoy showing everyone step by step how I am doing it, Now I know the way I am doing everything may not be the exact correct way but if any skills or techniques that I am using that helps just one person I am happy. I am just as excited as probably everyone here to see what the finished car will look like...lol I want to hurry up and finish this bad boy...haha

Joe... Hey i dug around and found a few pics of Door stands I took at different Drag Races. I apologize that I didn't get them up earlier. I have been running around to Lowe's and Home Depot Pricing water Heaters..... It looks as if my is taking a crapola and will have to replace it.... sure is gonna hurt the pocket book and set me back about 700-800 buck.... or guess it comes out of the Sherline lathe and mill fund...lol ;) ... Here are some shots for you buddy....

Chris,

Sorry to hear about the water heater. Your car is out of the park, what you have done on this is just out of this world.

Now back to the water heater. I assume you have a standard tank type. You might check out the tank-less type. They are a bit more pricey, they wind up saving more money in the long run, because you are not spending money contentiously heating up the tank of water. With a tank-less type you only heat up what you actually use. Just my $.02. Again you work on the cat is spectacular.
