BigBeze
What happens when you clear coat a flat color?
Zoom Zoom
It gets glossier. What happens when you buff out flat/satin/semigloss paint? It (often) buffs out as glossy as a gloss paint.
BigBeze
so would that be like a flat with a little shine almost like the way people are getting there cars painted flat blat or murdered out?
astroracer
so would that be like a flat with a little shine almost like the way people are getting there cars painted flat blat or murdered out? Nope...Clear is clear. It will be shiney no matter what is underneath it. If you want a flat or med flat look spray an epoxy type primer or find some Testors Dull Cote. Mark S. mustangman
You can also try some of the satin finish clears, their not too glossy and not too flat either, they allow you a little middle ground,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

danjohnson21
A lot of times I prefer to use a flat paint . It coats better, with less fish eye and orange peel. Then I just cove rit with glosscote.
