When I opened the box, I found that the roadster body was badly warped. At the suggestion of a local model club member, I decided to use the bad bucket and make a pseudo junker out of it. This is my first attempt at such a build. I now have a greater respect for those of you who have been building "junkers" or wrecked models; it was a lot harder than I thought it would be. Now I like to see true daily drivers, beaters and rat rods (a much over-abused term), but I don't understand how the term "patina" came to be almost as over-abused as "rat rod". A dirty vehicle is a dirty vehicle, that doesn't mean it automatically has any type of patina. Same goes for the typical rat rod. And (in my opinion), when a clearcoat of any kind is applied over a true patina surface on an actual vehicle, that kills the patina. What's the point- to protect the patina ? Apologies for the rant.
