i've recently started building enzo with hobbydesign's brake disk and photo etched set

i'd like share my build with you guys and get some advice

*since this is my first time starting a thread in english, i hope you dont mind my awkward sentences :)

here's my progress

enzo_01_zps8c04bfb4.jpg

14 1mm rivets on each cover

enzo_2_zps5f6cbfc0.jpg

detail up started with air intake manifold. i made holes on top

enzo_4_zpsd7084717.jpg

i put some metal electric plugs instead

enzo_5_zpsc9ee7def.jpg

enzo_6_zpsb088a191.jpg

after painted with engine color, i attached small hex nuts btw manifolds and applied chrome tape-> sand it lightly with fine sandpaper to make it look like stainless steel fuel rail

enzo_7_zpse074732d.jpg

enzo_8_zps6af19cdd.jpg

i made electro-injectors with duct spring and insulated wires

enzo_11_zps8afdf52c.jpg

enzo_9_zpsf3ab2c35.jpg

enzo_10_zps0169cd2f.jpg

with the engine part . bending thin wires in similar shape was not easy at all (it took almost 2 hours)

enzo_14_zps36e0690d.jpg

even though it will not be seen after covered with air box, looks much better than original part to me :)

enzo_22_zpsd5bde389.jpg

heat shield... fix it with metal rivet

enzo_23BCF5C0AC_zpse1744fdc.jpg

another heat shield by the transmission and i replaced hose joint with t2m metal joint

since the rear part can be seen through rear bumper, i put gold metal pipe

enzo_24_zps04902650.jpg

hi guys, thank you for your kind comments i really appreciate them:)

i've already done some progress but it took some time to pick up photos out of my phone.. (they were mixed with with others and it was like finding a needle in a haystack..)

anyway..

enzo03_zps74e0e286.jpg

rear sub frame was painted with tamiya's metallic grey..

enzo17_zps638f9c0a.jpg

double wishbones were made of white metal parts... looks more realistic than plastic

enzo18_zps46b60a2c.jpg

i was thinking of changing rear axles to metal rod... but the original parts look fine to me

so, i just painted by the manual.

enzo35_zps2e94f925.jpg

hobbydesign's brake disk set.. 9~10 layers of thick etching parts are supposed to be glued together

enzo36_zps063b00d3.jpg

comparing the original part with nice shiny p/e parts

enzo37_zps6ee71212.jpg

painted with gunmetal and matt coating..

those who want to build enzo with this set need to be careful not to lose any of those small rivets..

each set needs 10 rivets but only 41 rivets are in the package..

every time small rivets and screws just pop out of my tweezer, i never found it...

do i think those are worth $50?

well, they are good in detail and heavy enough for me to feel like real ones but i think it is a bit over-priced...

$25~30 would be fine

enzo23_zps22e2a991.jpg

i was looking for disks and found this pic... oh..i should not have seen this one

enzo07_zpsbc0cccfb.jpg

of course THE tamiya provided nice detailed calipers... but

enzo08_zps84fe781d.jpg

i cut it out.. and left some for brake pads on each side

see those things inside red circles? -> yes, they are caliper mounting bolts..

and how is the caliper supposed to be mounted on that position??

i thought i assembled wrong but..

enzo41_zpsdfafbbc6.jpg

sorry for lousy pic

if you look carefully... even the manual shows the mounting bolts in the front.

it's quite disappointing that $300 premium kit has this kind of flaw..

enzo42_zpse535496c.jpg

so i cut it out without thinking how to put it back on... :)

enzo43_zps952f1727.jpg

yes.. this is how it is supposed to be...

enzo45_zps95763eae.jpg

then i started trying to make calipers more realistic.. using side of p/e sheet, i made caliper springs..

enzo46_zpseee56aef.jpg

90% satisfied.. but need more adjustment

enzo48_zps0e982fd9.jpg

enzo47_zps150d4b7e.jpg

connection pipe was made with metal pipes, plastic rod and brass line

enzo80_zpsd32cc58a.jpg

painted and applied decal...

i'll post rest of photos few hours later.. gotta go to sleep ~ good night :)
