Brush painting Tamiya acrylics?
Brutalform replied to Monty's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
It appears that he is using a Testors product, and not Tamiya. -

It’s funny you posted this, as I was thinking, just the other day, about the tin garage I once had. Not totally sure if I had a Marx Garage when I was young, but I did get a tin garage from Santa Clause. Can’t remember what year, but I was probably 7 years old. I found a couple of pics of the tin one I had.

Ford Galaxie grill swap.
Brutalform replied to Brutalform's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Thanks guys. That top of the grill with the FORD script will have to go. Not there on a 69. Also the center on the grill can be removed too. I can make it work though. Not too far off of 69 grill. Thanks Steve for the pics. -
TESTORS AIN'T WHAT IT USED TA BE...
Brutalform replied to Mothersworry's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
It’s pretty sad to say that, nothing seems to be what it used to be anymore. I have this silly little thing about me, and that is when I buy something, all I expect is that it does what’s intended. At least for a little while. It’s appalling how “new” items such as refrigerators , ovens, TVs, or otherwise simple things like model paint, are so cheaply made, (but always cost more), just fail to perform like they should. I’ve had several Testors do this also, but never Tamiya. And no one cares, as long as they have your money. Years ago companies stood by their products, and a few still do, but it’s pretty sad when they constantly hound you to pay extra for extended warranty coverage. How about stand by your product to begin with, or build it a little better? Just sayin -
Does anyone know if the AMT 70 Ford Galaxie grill would fit the AMT 69 Ford Galaxie? I would like to get some info on the swap before buying a 70 grill, to build a replica of a real 69 without the hide away headlights.

Stash organization
Brutalform replied to atomicholiday's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
1 complete kits, either sealed or not. 2 partial kits 3 built kits. Everything else, like bodies, tires, parts, etc. all go in organized, labeled parts drawers. -
Fantastic looking Nova Kevin. Stance, and details are spot on. I was looking at purchasing some of Future Attraction wheels and tires, and after seeing your build, I’m gonna get a few. Great work.

Thanks Doc for pointing that out. He’s had that posted for some time. He didn’t want people ordering more than two of anything, as not to deplete his inventory. With the exception of “little time right now to remake molds”. My bad. I didn’t see that part earlier. He’s got some great stuff. Hopefully things will get back into full swing.

Unless I’m missing something?

How do you know he’s out of business? I just looked up his page and took a screenshot. It appears he’s open for buisness.

I was looking on their site earlier today. Didn’t know they were out of business?

Looks awesome! Where did you get those steer tires and rims? I might just strip the trim rings, and paint them. I normally don’t bash kits, but this thing had tons of flash, and it seems that several parts on the engine, had the holes not lining up with the studs, and contact between parts. Definitely not for a beginner. I’ve spent more time cleaning up parts, than actually building.
