a good diorama should tell a story, and based on picture #1, here's my take on it:

Jake had been feeling a little punky since he found out the gal at the hay & grain was already seeing someone and had made plans to get hitched that spring. he needed to take a drive and think about things. the old Coast Road offered plenty of pull offs so he could admire the view, roll up a Bugler and set a spell.

soon, he needed to, err, "check the air" in his front tire. as he was finishing up, a semi with a load of logs was heading up the hill. the driver was - yes - the hay & grain gal's beau. he knew Jake from long afternoons when they'd sit around the pot belly stove at the store and take turns spittin' on the stove just to hear it hisss.

Leroy was starting to pour on the coal to get his logs up over the grade when he gave Jake a long tug and two short pops on his double air horns as Jake looked up from his "business", he lost his footing and slid down the cliff into the angry waves below.

no one really knew whatever happened to Jake. people in town just figured he'd moved on to another hay & grain with another stove to spit on. the gal got married to Leroy and now they're a happy couple.

Jake's poor truck sat so long that the license plates rusted off and some kids stole the old engine for their hot rod. the Coast Road doesn't allow truckers anymore. there's a cut around which let's them move product faster into Tyler City.
