Love them 65s especially the customline trim. I guess I'm predigest cause that's what I used ta run around in as a teen back in the early 60s. Had a lot of fun in that old Ford.

I Need to add the customline trim so first I lay down some narrow tape and mark above the tape with a tinydrill bit.

Then with the dividers I transfer the drill marks to the other side of the car

I layed the first tape down below where I wanted the moldings. I then remove that tape and install new tape right on top

of the drill marks on both sides of the car. I then use a #11 blade to scratch along the bottom edge of the tape on both sides to have a guide to show me where to glue the moldings.

I used .010 X .060 styrene strips for the molding then added .025 styrene rod at the bottom edge of the strip to give the molding a more realistic look.

I filled in the area where the two moldings meet with squadron white putty. I will make a customline decal to be placed in this area after it is bare metal foiled.

Really nice work again, Mark! That looks good. I like how you modified the side trim to match the real car. Nice job with it. Looking forward to see more work with it. Great start. Where you find these decals, I'd like to build some Nascar racer also, but I'd like to have decals for that too.

Niko, I am going to make my own decals for the model but there is a sheet available for this car. I have seen them on internet searches for this car on google. I do not know how old they are and if they would be brittle. They are only 8 dollars so you would not be out much if they were.

Hi Mark,

the work on the side trim is amazing! That looks absolute perfect to me!

How many pictures do you have for your build up?

Keep the work going

Dominik, The pictures I am using are posted at the top of the thread. There might be some more in my photobucket.

I got all the decals finished. I just need to paste the decals going on the white parts of the car on to a clear decal sheet and the decals for the purple parts of the car need to go on a white decal sheet. I will post pictures of the sheets when finished.
