cdansie
Here's one that's been bugging me for ages. You know how it goes - get started - hit a wall - put aside - start again - put aside and so on. I decided last month to finish it so here it is. I combined an AMT Phantom Vicky and a Revell 32 Roadster with a few pieces from aftermarket suppliers and my parts box. Paint is Testors Ruby Red Metalflake. Bernard Kron
Excellent correction of all that's frustrating about the Goodguy's '32. Great contemporary/retro build, very well executed. Where did you get the hairpins? Also, the fuel pump/breather detail is really superb. Again, what are the sources for the basic parts you used? cdansie
Where did you get the hairpins? Again, what are the sources for the basic parts you used? The hairpins are from the Revell Orange Crate ( also released as Revell Chopped Deuce which is easier to get) Front axle and brakes are from an Aussie Company called The Parts Box (thepartsbox.com) They ship internationally and have a large online catalog Grille is an Accu-pro photo-etched one SCoT Blower, rear brakes and the already converted 40 Ford dash are all Replicas & Miniatures of Maryland - excellent quality Engine block, heads, headers and fuel pump are all from the Revell 48 Ford kit ( I adapted a 4 speed from my parts stash) Wheels are from the Revell 27 T Touring and tires & quick change are from my parts stash Twin carbs, rear spring and rear crossmember are all from the Revell 29 model A pick-up (Rat Rod) Rest of the bits are from the roadster kit Chris Here is a pic of some of them
Bernard Kron
Thanx for the blow by blow on the parts used. I'll have to remember the Revell '48 Ford. Nice details. I use a lot of stuff from RepMin and from The Parts Box. Both companies give excellent service and make first rate stuff, much of it quite unique and very useful if you build Old School. Dennis Lacy
Great looking roadster! It really reminds me of a retro '32 roadster that was built by SoCal Speed Shop a few years ago. While the full size car was black, it has a lot of the same features as yours such as the roots-blown flathead and retro Halibrand-style knock-offs. Love all the traditional details you worked in like the brakes, hairpins and quickchange. Awesome!
