Finally got the body and chassis put together, I used some very slow epoxy, as I knew I would need 3 hands to get it together, but it's all aligned and clamped, I'll take them off in the morning, also got the coachlines on the bonnet and fuel tank, I used a little bit of modellers licence on the fuel tank, as photo's I have seen had the coachlines on the end, but I have also got photo's like the way I have done things ....

Well it is certainly looking more like a car now .... had to drill out the rear axle to take the pins holding the wheels on, got the wheels fitted on one side, using some 3 hour slow setting epoxy so I could get things lines up correctly and held in place using a couple of metal set squares, one of my pet hates in modelling is wonky wheels ....

Just when thing were going well, this morning I fixed on the other side wheels and then thought I would get the running boards painted, as the body was done in lacquer, I could do the running boards in satin black lacquer, just before things had been masked off, i got out the lacquer thinners to thin out the black a little and a few drops of thinners got onto the rear wing, and took the paint off right down to the plastic ..... at this stage I could have stamped on it !!!

But I thought I had gone too far to throw in the towel now, so the area was flatted down, masked up and airbrushed using my small Paasche f1, it really is a great brush for doing smaller touch ups, now I will leave it to dry out for a few days before putting on the red coachlines,

But on a brighter note, at least it is starting to look like a car now it has all it's wheels on ...

I'm just pleased it wasn't on one of the front wings, as those coachlines were a right PITA to get right, I should have the rear wheel arch back to normal in the next couple of days, got the IPMS Scale Model World show tomorrow and the hospital on Monday, but i'll fit it in somewhere along the line, there really isn't that much now to get it finished ....

Finally got the body all masked up and the running boards and floor paint, in real life they would be black rubber, so I chose a satin black from Revell thinned out with lacquer thinners, took all the masking off this morning, and I'm pretty happy with the results, now I have the BMF to do .....

OK... I have to ask... why not paint the "rubber" part of the running boards, etc., before you assemble the parts?

Because they are actually molded as part as the body, they are not seperate parts .... it would have been a lot easier if they were !
