Nice looking rides!

Back in '93 my dad traded his 1973 El Camino (396+Man.) to this '70 Barracuda (Originally slant six car, at the time it had 360).

(yep, the egine bay really was that funky coloured B))

The model is one of my older ones, and im not 100% happy with it. I used some imagination to make it more "interesting", for example, my dads car really didnt have bullet holes in it...

The car itself currently sits in my dads garage in pieces waiting for restoration. The 360 will be replaced with 340+man. We havent made a lot of progress on it in past few years, but we havent forgotten about the ol' fish!

If, and when, we get the car done, i will make a new model of it.

7-1.jpg4.jpg2-1.jpg Here's one from about a year ago. Yeah it's one of those from the Old Navy stores. I don't know what I was thinking but, it got cut up along with my S-10 and turned out like one of my models when I start cutting. Also some pictures of the 1:1 the day I sold it. 019-2.jpg

So far I've only done one replica, for a friend of mine, but plan on replicating my '72 Charger and '80 Capri sometime soon. Here's mine, a '68 Plymouth Satellite, 318, vinyl top, added the side trim, and painted in a color that was as close of a match as I could get with a faded picture from 1974! Jay was extremely happy when he got his hands on this baby, he even shrunk himself and his son so they could get in the picture! :D

Here's a 1980s effort to model my first car. I took an AMT 57 Chevy and swapped roofs with an MPC 57 Gasser, then I used paint that came with the 1:1 car when I got it. The model sat unassembled in the attic for decades because I wasn't happy with the roof swap. Then, I glued it together after purchasing the modern Revell 57 Bel-Air, to sort of get a practice run:

And here is my modern-era build:

The mag wheels on the back came from a friend's Camaro that he was taking back to stock. I had a mishap when I tried to install Moon disks that left me with two leaky stock rims. The things we learn about cars in high school.... The black humps on the package shelf were some 1970s add-in speakers. Only one channel worked, which altered the sound of Sgt. Pepper.

I built mine with single exhaust. I wanted duals but could never afford it working part-time after school at a grocery store.

The "street machine" air cleaner that came with the kit looks almost exactly like the one on my otherwise stock 283. It came with a generator when I bought it, but a friend with a 56 4-door helped me convert it to alternator power.

Alas, I had to sell the 1:1 in 1988 for $1400. I have dreams I still own the car, and the model sits on a bookshelf in my office at work.

Started this one a good while back. And it still sits unfinished on the shelf. Maybe someday. The car it's to relicate was sold nearly 6 years ago.

Original 1970 issue MPC body and interior , with the newer AMT undercarriage added for greater detail. Engine is from the AMT 1971 Duster kit

I'm working on one of mine now; 78 Monte Carlo. And I've got another one in my stash but I have to get a body for it; 69 Dodge A100 series van. Unfortunately I'll never be able to build my current one without a LOT of scratchbuilding. No one makes a kit of a 2009 Malibu.
