AK Interactive Washes - which are best for automotive?

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I'd like to try the AK weathering products - but as I look through their product line I'm getting a bit overwhelmed (they appear to be geared toward armor) by all the different washes. So you guys that use them ... which washes or sets would you recommend as a good "starter" set for automotive applications - such are engine/wheel grime, etc...?

Thanks!

Hi Joe - thanks for the reply. I have been using some different DIY washes, including the ink/alcohol. But I have been hearing some good things about the AK weathering products and wanted to try them.

Yeah - the armor guys are out of control awesome with the weathering!!

Thanks!

Daffydd, wow, first of all, what a great name you have. Second, yes, I have experience with AK products. My recommendation is to get the black and brown washes (that's all you need for most car needs) and I would also urge you to get their rust/weathering kit that just came out.

There are other products that I recommend if you are planning to do some intense weathering, but if you are not, then you don't need them.

Thanks so much, Dr. Cranky and Jim, for the recommendations and AK#s - I'll be ordering soon! Dr. Cranky - I would love to get the "intense weathering" recommendations, too, if you don't mind. :)

Thanks, Joe, for the tip on the site and newsletter, I subscribed for the tips. Let the weathering begin! ;)
