First ever lowrider build

Mike

Recommended Posts

My friend Mark (and fellow builder) challenged me to build a lowrider to match my lowrider die-cast bike I had sitting on my bench. Here's my progress so far. I used Brian Nehring's tutorial to do the flames. The kit is the AMT 62 Buick Electra. Thank you for looking.

awesome paint job! if i could make a suggestion? don't use those wheels trust me they are low detail. i used them on my last low build and they look "ok" but not as good as some nice Pegasus wheels would. need some direction? send me an email and i will show you pics and give you some links. SWEET PAINT JOB!

Hey Bob. Thanks for the offer. I'd planned on using Pegasus wheels, but have yet to order them up. I've got a set of other Aoshima's I'll never use I'm going to try trade for them.

Nice job on the flames and i love that yellow!, mixed it yourself??

Those wheels by the way aint that bad, just blackwash them and add some

knockoffs and theyre nicer than most other wires, cos these are the only

ones in scale.

The yellow is actually "Insignia Yellow" by Testors. It's part of their Acryl line.

I got the interior, engine, and chassis done. Now I need to concentrate on patching up the body and paint. :P
