Thanks for the advice unclescott, after looking at many many pictures online trying to find the right color scheme, I think I have finally found one that I like. I'm not sure about the black roof or what looks like black stripes on the hood, but I like that shade of blue with the black and chrome wheels. I am up in the air if I want to use the white stripe tires that I was planning to use or if I want to turn them around.

I got this kit on sale at hobby lobby so I did not really have a plan for this vehicle when I bought it like I usually do. I am a fan of muscle wagons, but I like them a little lower than their non wagon counterparts. All I have done with this kit so far is mess with the stance and a few tire and wheel options. Right now these are the wheels that I am leaning towards, but this is subject to change depending on my mood and what color I pick. My question is, what colors do you guys think would look good on this wagon? I am not very skilled and only use rattle cans so nothing too fancy... some of my previous thoughts include metallic black, red, GM light blue, and a few others. Sorry for the bad picture quality, but it should give you an idea of where I am at right now. Let me know what you guys think!

Thank you for the kind comments everyone, they really mean a lot to me! I find it funny that you guys like the interior because I wasn't sure if I liked it or not when I finished, I thought there might have been too much green. Harry, the reason I am using kitchen foil is budget. I decided that I would rather spend the money saved on foil to buy supplies that don't have similar products already laying around the house. It can be a pain to work with, especially the glue, but it makes me work a little harder and you can't beat free! Thanks again and here is a picture I forgot to include before. The crusty stuff on the distributor is super glue, I used it to attach the wires to the distributor cap and I may have gone a little overboard with the glue...

I was working on this model at the same time as my 65 chevy stepside pickup posted in the truck section which was interesting because I have never worked on two models at the same time before, but I liked how efficient the process was. I was able to get a lot more painting and building done at the same time which was nice. Now onto the model, it is a Monogram 1/24 kit with centerline wheels from the heavy chevy chevelle and rear tires from the AMT superwagon. The 426 Hemi came from a 68 charger and the supercharger setup from the same heavy chevy. The paint is Model Masters Sublime Green which I know is a very common/overused color, but I like it. The model did not turn out exactly how I envisioned it, but my skills are just not at the same level as my imagination yet. I originally wanted it a little lower and meaner looking, but I am not unhappy with how it turned out. This was my first time trying embossing powder to emulate carpeting and it went relatively well but I will be better next time. My Reynolds Wrap foil trim skills are improving slowly but surely as are my engine wiring skills. I disliked having the exhaust, rear axle, driveshaft, and suspension as one piece so I cut it all apart for better detailing. I did not notice until I looked at these pictures that I forgot to glue the headers to the exhaust so I will have to fix that soon. Thanks Danno, I know the wires are out of scale but unfortunately I am on a very tight budget and have to use whatever I can find around the house. When I found a spare Ethernet cord laying around, I couldn't pass it up and it is the best thing I had. Does anybody know of a cheap/easy way to get closer to scale wire in several colors in reasonable amounts? There are several other things that I know I could do that would make it more detailed or scale but just don't have the materials, so I am trying to work on my personal ability.

I originally bought this kit to use the torque thrust wheels on a previous 70 Chevelle build and decided to build the truck since I had it. The color that I used is Testors Root Beer Brown and it has Testors Wet Look clear coat over it. The wheels and tires are from a 70 Roadrunner, they look a little big because the Roadrunner is 1/24 and the truck is 1/25. I used wires that I pulled out of an Ethernet cord for the plug wires and the chrome trim is just standard aluminum kitchen foil. I took a break in the middle of the build which resulted in me losing several parts like the gas cap and upper radiator hose. I am not quite sure how the rear window became cracked, but when I pulled it out to continue working, it was. As you can see, there is plenty of room for improvement and I would definitely like to hear your critiques and tips so I can improve. This model was built as a physical form of my dream car in my head, so having a 1:1 of this would definitely make my day. The aluminum foil works if you are on a tight budget but it is an absolute pain in the butt to use and try to get smooth. Lazlow and Dr. Cranky, the stance was one of the things I knew I had to get perfectly right to pull off the look I wanted. Also Dr. Cranky, I've watched some of your videos and will have to try some of your methods, thanks for sharing them!

Thank you guys! Yes I loved the color as soon as I saw it Dave. The bad pictures are doing the car justice, you can't see most of my mistakes and goofs that I made. Larry, I am in the Wimington area. These wheels are awesome, if I had the money I would buy 20 of the truck kit just to steal the wheels from. Torque Thrusts are my favorite wheels by a long shot!

I just finished this Revell Chevelle. The color is testors fiery orange topped with wet look clear, the wheels are from the 65 chevy stepside pickup kit, and the front suspension is lowered. This was my first time foiling ( tin foil and Elmer's glue), clear coating, engine wiring, suspension modifying, using parts from other kits, etc. I know it is not the same quality as many that I have seen on here, but I am only 17 and want to get better so all questions/comments/criticism/tips are welcomed.
