Junkman
The way things are going in the modelling world, it's probably an H0 scale model. Or a $19.95 diecast. Still, I vote real for this one.
mr moto
Model . The rear bumper looks like Alcad . I think GM was using Alclad in 1959.

horsepower
This is either real, or someone went to a lot of work to add wavy bodywork to an otherwise excellent model.
horsepower
If it is real it has been modified. No original had panel fit like this, or the seams on the bumpers. They would have if it was one that GM was using for ad photos, really think they would just pull an average production car for one of those? CorvairJim
This is either real, or someone went to a lot of work to add wavy bodywork to an otherwise excellent model. Keep in mind, that was a very complex panel to be stamped in production back in 1959. It has a large surface that is supposed to have a very shallow, gradual curve to it with sharp drops where it meets up with the rear window channel, the trunk opening, and the vertical portion of the quarter panel. I'm sure that most of these quarter panel tops were wavy to at least a minor extent, but not enough that it would be noticible to anyone not paying close attention to it. 1zebra3
REAL! look at the bad body work on the rear drivers side fin. Its hard to replicate that in scale. It's the first thing I noticed.
Pete J.
If it is real it has been modified. No original had panel fit like this, or the seams on the bumpers. They would have if it was one that GM was using for ad photos, really think they would just pull an average production car for one of those? Yea, this is exactly what happened. I found the photo on the original GM site and this is either early production or prototype. The seams on the fenders are way to tight and have no bevel on the edge like a production stamping would have had. Also the body gaps are way to good. Very nice Harry!
