I have tried my no 11 blade and baremetal panel scriber with little progress. Tough to scribe and hard to stay in the groove. Any tips or suggestions scribing lines in resin? Ace-Garageguy Posted August 16, 2014 Share Posted August 16, 2014 (edited) I have a trick that MIGHT work for you. I was able to create the panel-separation lines in the rear of the roof of this custom (they didn't exist) by laying a piece of masking tape along the original line at the front of the roof, and pulling it tight to where I wanted it to finish. Then, I very carefully began to follow the edge of the tape with a 32 TPI razor saw. It takes a very delicate touch, and patience, but I was entirely pleased with the results. You can see the finished lines are straight and parallel to each other...no easy task. The material I was scribing into is a mixture of epoxy and microballoon, which is about as hard as resin. It's adhesive backed and is thick enough to make a guide for knife or saw. EXCELLENT idea. Much better than masking tape, and has a hard, straight edge.
