Patrick2005
I was wanting to build a new COPO drag car and was wondering what the best method would be for converting the rear to a solid axle set-up. Any help or pics would be greatly appreciated.
rsxse240
I would start with reference pics of the subject. I suspect it's a mini-tubbed unibody with some sort of 4 link, but don't take my word. I would suggest watching the episode of Fast & Loud (Gas Monkey Garage) where Richard gets to build his own COPO. There's a lot of footage that could help with the details. Now, if you just want to build a pro stock/street, not an exact replica, you could simply get the rear end out of any number of kits and modify the chassis to suit. W-409
Here are two pictures of the rear suspension on the new COPO Camaro. If you're going to build an actual COPO Camaro, I wish you good luck. I have the same project in mind, I have the kit already but currently I'm searching all of the parts I need before I can start the project. Patrick2005
I mostly just want to build a pro-street clone since most people wouldn't notice the difference anyways. I was thinking it was a 4-link set up with the coil over shocks.
