MCM Ohana (6/6)

  1. Great job combining parts from multilple kits!,looks outstanding!!
  2. Good looking build!, i painted the 63 'Nova i'm working on a similar color.
  3. I'm working on the Trumpeter 63'nova and tried to strip the chrome as well and nothing worked! like Stitchdup said just sand it off.
  4. This arrived friday, already have one and haven't seen another offered in years and the price was right.🤠
  5. Thanks for the positive comments everyone!,okay another update, since seatbelts weren't offered by the factory, only dealer installed i decided to add some which really improved the appearance. Something that bothered me about the console it had no shift pattern,so in a moment of craziness i attempted to make it using a piece of wire taken from some spark plug wire. After lots of failed attempts i settled on one,i just covered it with a piece of Matte Aluminum foil and burnished it down on the console.Interior complete and installedAfter installing the steering wheel and taking this picture,i was shocked at how oversized the steering wheel was,so i looked at the instructions and realized the large outer ring is there to prevent the steering wheel from warpage and needs to be cut off!,luckily i didn't glue it on it just slides on.Hopeful to wrap up this build by the end of the month.
  6. Nice color and it's frustrating when parts don't want to fit!.
  7. I agree,i bought the coupe and convertible version when they came out around 2004-2005,they seem to be heading price wise into the Meng ford f350 range.
  8. I think it around 10-15 cars if i remember correctly, for some reason this kit and the convertible version are really pricey.🤷‍♂️
  9. Love all the added extra detail! the dimmer switch is something i would have never even thought about or the seatbelt retractors.👍
  10. Work is pretty much complete on the interior,no ignition switch on the dashboard so i added one and P/E keys to and Keith Marks decals,i airbrushed a mixture of light tan and gloss brown for the interior colors Lastlyi saw a few pictures online where the trunk had a printed pattern so i added the detail using some old scale motorsport decals.
  11. Been awhile since i posted any updates: kit has no decals so i ordered a couple sets from Keith Marks couple weeks ago.I decided i would go with a car driven spring to fall so i did some weathering on the engine and chassis. Engine installed with decals added, i drilled out the snorkel on the air cleaner
