  1. Thanks! Ramp truck sounds good. I don't think I've seen someone make a model of one out of this particular truck.
  2. Thanks! Yup, I'm still scratching my head at that one. The good thing is that I wasn't planning on using those mirrors on the 1992 that I took them from. The ultimate compliment. Thanks!
  3. Thank you! Thank you! Funny that you mention that; I was in Pismo last week and saw exactly what you're talking about. Thank you all! Thank you! I'm glad it has the look I was going for.
  4. Here's my completed 1996 C-3500 Dually. The truck is mostly box stock, except for the aero mirrors from the companion 1992 Silverado kit and a Gofer Racing bumper sticker decal. Paint is Tamiya TS-33 Dull red clear coated with Mr. Super Clear UV Cut Gloss, both from aerosol cans. It got me fairly close to replicating GM's Dark Garnet red color available for 1996. I wet sanded and cut/polished the paint with Meguiar's Scratch X, Compound, and Polish. My vision for the project was a then brand-new truck with the high end Silverado trim that was purchased by a family to tow their fifth wheel, boat, etc. during specific times of the year, but that otherwise remained un driven. Overall, I liked the kit and it was 95% hassle-free. My only complaints are the lack of appropriate side mirrors included in the kit, the fit of the front window, and the lack of decals to replicate the side marker lights on the bed. I only bring up the side marker lights since the decal sheet is otherwise very comprehensive and includes decals for every other need. Side marker lights would have rounded everything out. Here is the WIP thread:
  5. Ahh okay, I saw that video as well. I thought there were some actual shots out there somewhere.
  6. Test shots? Where? C'mon man, you can't just tease like that!
  7. Here she is all wet sanded and polished. I wet sanded with 4000, 6000, 8000, 10000, and 12000 grit pads. I then buffed it out with Meguiars Scratch X, Ultimate Compound, and Ultimate Polish. I'm still working on my polishing skills, but I figured the truck finish looks shiny but not perfect, just like on a real truck. I still have some detail painting to do on the cab, but the bed is just about done. Unfortunately, the rear bumper had a small chip on the otherwise great chrome finish. Not huge by any means, but enough to bother me: I decided this would be a great time to use this Gofer Racing bumper sticker decal set that I have: I went with something appropriate for the 90's and that still fits my overall theme:
  8. These printed versions are being sold on ebay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/375241265904
  9. Thank you! I originally purchased TS-33 to do a red interior on a future OBS project. I ended up buying more because of how versatile it is, especially depending on what clear you use.
  10. It's probably not something I will buy, but I have a lot of appreciation for the fact that your company is tooling up a new variant of this kit. It's such a great, relatively cheap way to maximize the potential of an existing mold.
  11. The AWD "package" with the updated brakes and wheels debuted for the 2014 model year, the last year before the facelift. Definitely makes spotting a 2014 model easy.
  12. Yes sir, I do have those as well.
