Robert81
I picked up this kit and a 36 Ford roadster, for 5 buck each. The kits are a little crude, by today's standards. There is no chrome in the kit. The body is not accurate to the 1:1. The body on this one is three pieces with a separate two part hood and grill. The chassis has the fenders molded to it. As well as the lower engine, rear axle and exhaust being molded to the chassis. The Front axle and "wishbone" are both separate. The Wire spoke wheels are two pieces with the rim and tire molded together, they attach with plastic axles. The Shifter, hand brake, steering wheel, headlights, tail lights, horns and bumpers are separate. The Dash and package shelf. are also separate. The seat is a pleated bench molded to the floor, that has the petals and shifter boot molded in. The "glass" has separate the windshield, rear window, the headlights, and the neatest thing, the side windows are rolled haft way down. OK, on to my build. First thing I did was cut off the fenders. This constituted channeling the body. the body sides required a bit of tweaking to get them to line up with the top part. Next I worked on lowering the front. i squished down the spring and drilled new mounting holes in the wheel backing plates to get the wheels to mount higher on the axle. I'm swapping the wire wheels for the "artillery" wheels in the 36 roadster kit. Now, on to the pics. The Chassis with wishbone and modified axle the seat and floor, with the the two different wheels. I will be using the wheels on the right The front of the body and Chassis with the front suspension installed. The hood and grill installed on the body/frame. The body mocked up. Side by side compare with a 1:25 scale 32 Ford 5 window. Edited January 11, 2009 by Robert81
