  1. Thanks so much Chris and Jay! I certainly had a good time creating this.
  2. Thank you all for following along on the journey. It been a long time since I originally started this and I'm glad to have it done and on the shelf.
  3. Thank you all for your comments and input. Its much appreciated.
  4. Well, after a long sabbatical, I'm back on this build. I found a blue marmoleum flooring sample online so I did a screen capture and merged the same pattern together in PhotoShop and printed it out on heavy card stock. Its now attached to the frame with double sided carpet tape. I've also made the table and galley cabinet top out of Evergreen plastic. I'm currently working on a small shelf to go above the stovetop mounted to the cabinet. Once this is done, I' post some pictures.
  5. Bob - I really like the direction this is going. I just picked this kit a couple of weeks ago and knew I wanted to build a drag car out of it. I have a direction now. What are your plans for an engine? I'll be following your build.
  6. This will stay in my possession for the future.
  7. Thanks for the compliments fellas. It was totally worth any effort to bring this project back to being able to show. Sorry I didn't get any pictures of it before repairing it.
  8. It was great to finally meet you Tom. Sorry we didn't get to hang out, it was such a busy weekend. Since most of my photos have lost their link, here's a couple of photos. The guitar has been updated since this picture as it now has strings. Nothing else has changed.
  9. Time to resurrect this thread and let you know I took this to GSL last weekend and to my amazement, it won 'Best In Class' honors in the Light Commercial category. I'm truly humbled and honored. I'll post some updated pictures later today.
  10. Just got back late last night from my first GSL and unfortunately, it is the last one. I entered this project in the Diorama class and am so ecstatic it took top honors. I am completely floored. The number of entries and quality of builds was astounding. So glad I got this back in my possession to get it repaired. Here's picture of it on the contest table and a picture of the slide. I'm still in disbelief!
  11. Oh, this will be good. Definitely following this one. You're off to a really good start and I like everything about it so far!!
  12. Well, this dio has re-emerged. I donated this build to my flyfishing club for their annual raffle and a friend won it. His nephew was completely enamored with it so he gave it to him. After a time, his child got a hold of it and really did some damage. I have it back in my possession to repair it in order to take it to GSL next month. I'll post some pictures of it in its current state in a few minutes.
  13. How did we miss each other again David? Thanks for your comments. It's really not a problem moving it because everything, and I mean everything, is glued in place. I can even tip it on its side to access the wiring underneath for the working lights and nothing moves. I'm trying to figure out how to power the lights with a battery or batteries so it doesn't need to be plugged in to the wall. Need to get this figured out by GSL.
  14. Greg - thanks for the gentle push to updates the welding tanks. They look so much better. I also finished up the Fender Champ Amp and put it in place. Thanks for your interest Brad - LordModelBuilder. See you at GSL.
  15. Thanks for your comments Greg. I put those tanks on probably 25 years ago before I knew anything about welding. I'll try to pull one of the tanks on the cart and see if I can paint it green. I have the proper decals for them.
