It's far too stressful for someone like me who has a temper. Between working on my 1:1, school, and job, I just simply don't have a lot of time right now. Sometimes a day or two away from one project makes the problem seem like a small issue once you are relaxed again. This hobby has helped me through some pretty tough times in life. As others have said, this is not supposed to be a stressful hobby so if it is for you, walking away for awhile is a smart thing to do! Check in like you said and someday, maybe sooner than you think, the urge to be creative will come back to you. I was expecting to see another Gearz winning build from you soon, maybe next year! whale392 Posted April 17, 2013 Share Posted April 17, 2013 You and I have had differences in the past, but let me tell you this (and I hope it makes sense to you); I work two jobs (one in aviation and the other in Mustang-specific/FOX Mustang rebuild/modify) and work on my 1:1 daily drivers and 3 project cars/bikes. That is why I don't get a lot of building done. When I find the 'stress' of any one of my hobbies creeping in, it is usually because of people and my self-induced 'expectations' they hold for me. When that phantom stress creeps in, I simply go silent/dark for a while. I am still building/working, just not in the 'public' eye and under the 'scrutiny' of it. Without that, the implied stress melts away and I start to enjoy what I am doing again. Holding a hobby to the 'false' feelings of self-induced stress is NOT where you want your head and heart to be. So I lost it and I threw it across the room :lol:" One of life's lessons through model car building is when things go wrong, instead of getting mad, learn to take a deep breath and just walk away for the evening. Wait until you are in a better frame of mind and try again. You will find that the problem that had you mad, has an easy solution you just didn't see because you were upset. Believe me I know. X3. i agree. work use to take model time away until fall when yard work and work slowed down. l don't have a temper or stress like working everyday anymore. If I get stuck or break something, I move on to something else until I have a plan to fix it. I don't have to finish, no deadline, I can do whatever I want. Modelling after work helps me stay calm throughout the week. As someone who has lost a fortune in the RC car world from selling off everything twice, don't get rid of your stuff. Just put it away until you want to build again. I dumped off thousands of dollars worth of stuff for hundreds and it cost me thousands to get back in again. It's the worst thing you can do. Take a break, save your kits & supplies, Like the rest of us we all come back to after a Hiatus. Wish you well in your endeavors what ever they may be.
