MCM Ohana (6/6)

  1. Thought I read somewhere that it was inspired by a car that had no hood sides running at a lake bed and had an engine failure. There were flames coming off the engine and down the sides of the body, which fave somebody the idea.
  2. It would at least help on the skill part, hopefully impart the need to keep the phone and latte in the center console while driving one.
  3. Yeah, I’ve seen videos of wrecks from lack of talent compared to HP or just plain stupidity/entitlement, enough to make me think that a real drivers Ed and/or mandatory high performance driving experience type classes should be mandatory above 200-250hp and/or above 5000lbs.
  4. I’m looking forward to this one!
  5. I’m beginning to think that is a good idea in general, but especially with some of the large, high powered, and heavy vehicles, be it internal combustion or EV. Saw a video about the new Escalade IQ, it’s a full sized SUV that weighs 8600lbs, can reach 60mph in under 5 seconds, and is so large that it’s 24” rims don’t look cartoonishly big on it. Make me a bit nervous to be around one of those or the new Charger EV (5600lbs) and not knowing what kind of driver is behind the wheels of vehicles like that……especially if I’m a pedestrian or I get a bicycle and start riding again.
  6. Possibly, though I nearly got in trouble with only 146hp and FWD with my first car, turbo came on and the car tried ripping the wheel out of my hand.
  7. Funny you said that, as Dad and I were getting into his minivan after buying my second of this kit as well as another Black Beauty Imperial kit, I told him I was probably going to pick more of these Merc kits up as I find them if the price is decent.
  8. I started digging into one of mine yesterday.
  9. I’m pretty sure this was meant to be an easy to build snap kit for Ford to run their version of the Make and Take on the Auto Show circuit. I bought the 1st Gen kit a couple weeks ago and it’s got the more typical detail for one of the Revell snap kits,
  10. This kit being a curbside is why I bought a couple, don’t have to mess with the engine and should be easier to get really low. The body lines look pretty nice and I do like that the trunk is part of the body (as I do with the Revell Merc) as I just really don’t care for the fit of the trunk on the AMT kit. The skirts are molded on too, which is ok and can always be worked around if I want to do something different too.
  11. Just picked a couple of these up, thought that they might make for a couple nice curbside lead sled builds.
  12. Was just listening to Meatloaf on the way home from the gym tonight!
  13. There’s no rule, but lots of the BroDozer-ish truck builds usually have at least no front drive shafts, some probably due to excessive joint angles, if they even get driven outside of on and off trailers.
