Air-Trax Mercury Marauder X-100

Recommended Posts

I did buy these when first out from Air Trax :

Anglia (106) , the Cortina ('60's) and the Volvo P1800 . These are WIP's for me . I would buy more as Julia's group are fantastic modelers . I am not able to buy anything now from them regretabally . I'll look at their site and drool anyway . I would not hesitate to purchase again from Air Trax . IIRC . Julia was at a Toledo Show awhile back . A great Modeler and a real great person , not a fake . Thanx ..

Air Trax kits are very nice. I've bought a couple of bodies that were damaged during the molding process when AirTrax was selling them at a local Model Car Show. I can't even notice how some of them are damaged.

Juha has built one of these.

These pictures certainly won't do the justice to Juha's work. That, and all of his builds are spectacular in person.

Air-Trax is high quality resin work. They are expensive, but worth every penny. I have a Triumph TR4A I've started that is the only game in town for this car I owned. It is a bit thick and I believe one of their first bodies, but the casting is dead on correct.. The quality of their newer bodies is even better.

I have this Marauder, three different Saab 96 kits, Triumph Herald, Peugeot 404, Taunus 17M, Volvo P1800, Volvo Amazon, Dodge Lancer STW, Simca Vedette, Dodge Mirada, Ford Cortina and Ford Anglia.

Some older body castings are a bit thick, newer are thinner but castings are correct in all kits.

I really can´t recommend these kits highly enough, they are simply said really nice kits.

Many of these kits come with PE- parts also!

I have not found any place/site that sells this Mercury Maurader resin kit.

Last weekend, it was a Model Contest called Nordic Challenge here in Finland. Juha's Marauder was also there (The one I posted those pictures of) and there was the piece of paper next to every model with model's name and a short description. On Juha's Marauder, there read that it's built from AMT '69 Galaxie. That must have required lots of cutting and slicing!

Remember folks, we're talking about a man that turns Ramblers into Studebakers and shows us that 1955 Plymouths and Chevrolets can share lots of parts with a little massaging...

I wish I could blow the dough for one of these. I always thought the Marauder was a cool-looking ride. That satin black trunk, especially when paired with copper or red looks so good. And I usually don't like the satin black thing, but somehow, on this car, it looks right.
