Making Recaros

Recommended Posts

I also wanted some classic Recaros, but with much improved details ...started from a donor kit recast, I improved them significantly with deeper cut lines, refashioned the headrest to correct shape & moved with forward tilt proper, and then made new control panels one each side bolster (so I could make one mold & simply sand off one side control set to make either a driver's or passenger's version)

:)

So while looking at some other cool seat designs to construct I found that a few manufacturers make a particular design which looks very similar between each ....this time I'm making up a digital design sheet for printing scale decals to match, but in the 4-5 different names which are applicable :)

I really like the Singer Porsche style seats being made by Recaro, they'd be great for not just scale Porsche builds, but anything European, VW, BMW, etc. IMO

So I decided to make some myself, they are 2 very different styles, one the bucket, once piece with head rest, and belt pass-through holes, had to reproduce the basket weave fabric pattern too :)

...the second is more fitted, straight lines, folding design sport seat, very cool IMO
