Craft store carb stacks

Recommended Posts

I'm presently wrapping up an unfinished AMT model T that I abandoned and packed away nearly 20 years ago, and the kit's velocity stacks were pretty boogered up....I wasn't sure what to use. While browsing Michaels' scrapbooking aisles with the missus, I spotted these über-cool 3/16" eyelets and knew what they'd be good for. They come in a pack of 100 for about $3(and I used a 40% off coupon on top of that  ).

I still need to touch up where I epoxied them on, but I think they look the part:

I bought some of those a while ago to use as custom rings on the rear valance panel for the exhaust pipes to exit through. Still haven't done it yet, but should look real nice.

Your velocity stacks look real nice too.

Great tip bro. Is there a story behind the avatar (no pun intended)?

Thanks for the kudos; I'm glad to have a place to share oddball stuff like this.

As far as the avatar goes, it was photographed while on vaca @ Disney World last month.....IMO the best name in toilet paper. :D

I CHECKED MY MICHAELS STORE AND THEY DIDN'T HAVE THOSE. BUT JOANN FABRICS HAD THEM IN NEAR ALL THEIR FABRIC . ARE YOU SURE IT WAS MICHAELS??

I'm sure it was. If you have trouble finding them locally, drop me a line with your snail-mail address and I'll send you some...the package I got has waaay more than I'll ever need.

I assume each location's stores are different. The Michaels here doesn't have them, but the Hobby Lobby does . . . with the leathercraft stuff.
