Boss truck of America .....................?

Recommended Posts

That would be the airglide 100. It can be found on the Revell KW w900 snap kit,the AMT K100 Aerodyne, The Revell of Germany KW w900 extended hood (the best kit to start on the Boss) The Revell of Germany KW k100s etc. I wander if the Boss originally had the KW torsion bar suspension though due to the year. You have 3 choices on paint as the Boss was also orange and white as well as Red white and blue.

Ok the boss did not have an air bag suspension , nor torsion bar suspension . It looks like something like hendricks but it wasn't could be like you say the age of the truck be a browning suspension ? As far as color I'm liking the fancy paint orange and white.

I've tried to find a good pic to see but haven't found one. Looks like someone stretched her out with a cut off. That appears to be an early ag 100 but would still be newer than the Boss. I recall seeing the Boss on the Movin On tv series back about 74 so I'll check and see some old KW brochures see what it might be. Great idea for a project hope to see pictures. Come to think of it there were more than 3 paint schemes.

Found a good shot on youtube it's a KW 4 bag air ride that predated the ag 100. It was available late 60s to mid 70s. A lot of Canadian trucks used with the Canadian 60" spread on their tandems. Not sure what it was called but it could be modeled with a little effort.

I would have thought for sue that it had the torsion bar suspension. This is great to know! Now someone needs to make good master parts of this suspension so we can get it cast into resin!!!!!

If you look at those pictures of the Boss Truck, as it is now, you can see that the whole rear section of a newer Kenworth was added to the existing frame. The frame wasn't that long on the original truck and you can see where the old suspension mounted on the original portion of the frame rails, forward of the existng 8 bag air ride.
