  1. I know that the iwata is better but I read some posts about 0.5mm being not as good as 1mm for car body painting. Is that true?
  2. Hello, I'm looking for an airbrush and was wondering if I should go for something like the Paasche H or the Iwata HP-TR. In other words do I need the big nozzle size or is 0.5 just perfect for car modelling?
  3. Basically my question is whether polishing with 3m pastes (2 and 3) can make such a paint look normal and not dull. Here is the picture i found: http://i1019.photobucket.com/albums/af320/fastoldcarz/32%20roadster%20gluebomb%20rework/DSCN0158_zps51ce9f9f.jpg
  4. Hey guys, I'am currently working on a Porsche 356 build and I'm facing some problems with the paint. I've already done 2 coats and I like the color, but there is some orange peel. I'm planning on wet sanding it with 2000 grit. My question is if I should wet sand it and then apply the clear coat because after the wet sanding the sanded areas will have more of a dull look or maybe i should wet sand it then apply another color coat and after that the clear. Another possible solution might be to try and polish them out. I have 3M pastes (2&3) but I'm not sure if this will fix my problem.
  5. Hi, I accidentally left my tamiya citrus glue unscrewed over night. Is it still usable?
  6. Am I going to achieve a good result if I wet sand with 2000 then polish with both 3m products and finally wax?
  7. Аs far as I understood i should use a fine polish not a wax. Is that right or should i first wet sand then polish and at the end apply wax? The one that is available here is that one http://www.amazon.co.uk/3M-Perfect-Machine-Polish-09376/dp/B004TQOCS2 . Is it the equivalent of the ones your are using? The only differance seems to be that the one you are talking about is ultrafine.
  8. Hi guys, Since the only thing available here is 3M I want to ask you which compuonds should i get? I want to use them after 2000grit wet sanding in order to achieve a mirror-like finish. I'm a little bit confused due to the hundrets of different products. I've been looking at the 09375 and 09376 but I'm not sure they are the right ones to go with.
  9. Hi, I just applied the decals on my Mercedes G230 paris dakar and I'm not really happy with the results. I used MR MARK SOFTER but still it was pretty hardm How do you approach the rally car decals? A problem I faced ia being unable to move the decal after the slightest touch with the surface. How do you approach rally car decalals?
  10. Well they seem to adhere but still when i run my finger across them they fall off. Thst's why I'm wondering how they can be sealed.
  11. Hi, I'm planing on using the set to weather my Mercedes rally car but I'm not exactly sure how to seal it. Will the Mr Hobby Aqueous color flat clear diminish the effects or should i just leave them unsealed? I've read that some people use isopropyl alchohol as a fixer but since I'm painting with acrylics i don't think it's a good idea.
  12. Hi guys, I've been following the forum for a while now and this is my first build I'm uploading. It's overall my third model so don't expect it to be as good as yours. Please feel free to give me constructive feedback on the model as well as the photographs. Here is the model itself: https://imageshack.com/a/6FBz/1
  13. As far as I am concerned the paint is acrylic. I am spraying the aqueous line of paints. The thinner I use is the gunze one (AQUEOUS HOBBY THINNER). I check if the mask is fitting correctly every time before spraying. The only two problems I can imagine are the lack of glasses and gloves and the poor ventilation.
