  1. You also just missed modelfest in Ventura a few weeks ago. It's usually held every February.
  2. I concur with Bob's points. I will also add that Mr. Hobby primers are much easier to strip than Tamiya primers. Tamiya paints strip very easily, but their primer can be extremely tough. Tamiya primer is a great product, but Mr. Hobby is much more versatile.
  3. I'm looking for a replacement tailgate for the newly issued Chevy C-3500 Dually kit. I'm going to assume that the C-1500 tailgate is the exact same piece and will work just as well. I'm not sure if there's compatibility issues between the 90's versions of the kit and the newly tooled version.
  4. Thanks for sharing! I live a few miles away from the venue but unfortunately was out of town that day. I was itching to register some of my stuff for the first time.
  5. Great, I would definitely be interested if you're willing to part with it.
  6. Thanks! Do you have a link for the mopar paints? Is it spray paint? Thanks Carl! I got just the color shade I wanted.
  7. Guys, there's now a thread for the Camaro:
  8. A lot of it depends on what type of paint you're trying to strip away. I primarily use Tamiya lacquers and I've successfully used 91% isopropyl alcohol to strip the paint from resin, just as if it were a styrene kit. The only difference is that with resin, I pay attention to how long I leave the resin soaking and minimize the time as much as possible.
  9. Like Les, I highly recommend the Tamiya sanding sponges. Unfortunately, they only run up to 3000 grit, so they're mainly good for body work as opposed to pre-polish wet sanding. But I have wet sanded with them and they work fine. For final detailing prior to polishing, I use GodHand sanding sponges. They are available in various thickness and are very flexible.
  10. I did some quick research on what the stock C-3500 front dually wheels looked like. I ran into a lot of stock-looking aftermarket wheels on google but found what I was looking for: I went back and painted the lug nuts black and placed the center cap decals found on the kit's sheet: As you can see, the kit's center cap decals are undersized. I would recommend painting the rest of the area black to blend in the decal with the paint. Nonetheless, I'm happy these decals were included. I painted and cleared the body using Tamiya TS-33 Dull Red and Mr. Super Clear UV Cut gloss, both out of the can:
