  1. I have always loved that first version of the Virginia Giant. You've done a great job, thanks for sharing it with all of us. Now I am motivated to get started on all those works in progress that I have. Take care, Rod.
  2. I finished 2009 unemployed, started 2010 unemployed, and in August I got a job. It pays less than unemployment, but I am working. And, its for less than half of what I usually make. I have read all of the posts about the rough year that it has been. I truly enjoy the humor, it is needed. But at the same time, I am grieved that some of you have had it so rough. Life and faith have taught me that there is an answer outside of myself. For those of us that have had the thought that we can take care of ourselves and "get through it", some of us are those same ones that can't land a job, not for the lack of trying after 100's of resumes and dozens of interviews. My job came about as a miracle, in an industry where most job openings are word-of-mouth. My favorite car was re-possessed and sold at auction for $10,500 less than I owe on it. So now I owe for what I don't have....... To those of you that have had it so rough, I dearly hope that you have a way to find joy and hope, and that things turn around for you soon! Rod
  3. Congratulations to both Dad and Mom. Take it from a 47 year old father of 2, and grandfather of 2 more, love every stage of your childs life. They do indeed grow fast, and before you know it, you find yourself regretting that you didn't do more "with" them. Ah, but now I will do better with my grandchildren, and in turn, spend more time with my Son and Daughter. A very merry Christmas indeed!
  4. I really like where you're going with this! Keep the progress pictures coming Rod
  5. Boy, o boy, o boy! You truly have a sick, sick mind........... I love it. Keep us posted with pictures of your progress. What type of diecast did the wheels and tires come off of? Rod
  6. Hans, with the stripe and clearcoat, the colors and metal flake really "pop". Looks great, keep the progress pictures coming! Rod
  7. I know this is probably going to sound stupid, but I will offer to do security for a model contest/show here in Reno, Nevada. After living in California for 45 years, I moved to Nevada almost 2 years ago, and I am thrilled. Here in Nevada, like a few other states, a person can carry a pistol just about anywhere, as long as it is visible. For $78, you can attend a training class, and get a concealed-carry permit. I think it would be quite a shock, to be confronted and held for police, by a modeller that stands for what is right. It would the first and last time that someone pulls that ###### around here. I know, I know, not really politically correct, but that's what happens when you stand-up for what is right. I must still have my head in the sand, to be shocked that a body would steal a model or models....... Rod
  8. I wholeheartedly agree Congratulations on a great find. You were blessed by them, and they were blessed because of their generosity. A true win-win Rod
  9. Romell, I am watching with great interest your build of the Chevelle. This truck proves, beyond the shadow of a doubt, that you have a sickness. This is not your normal, everyday sickness, but one that is all-inclusive, and has taken-over your life...................................................... I just hope that it is contagious Remember, the first step to recovery, is admitting that you have a problem, and I think this forum is a good place to do that Taking that truck, trailer and car from show-to-show has got to be a nail-biting experience. Thanks for sharing! Rod
  10. The DUB grille looks great, the rear fenders look fantastic all the way to the top of the bed! With that Heavy Duty hood, now you need to put a nice Duramax under it, jmho. Great progress! Rod
  11. This is gonna be great. So nice skill being displayed here, keep the progress pictures comin' Rod
  12. You've really got my heart pumpin' on this one. Great project, can't wait for more, more, more pictures! Rod
  13. Ohana status? Heck, I'm just glad I made it to "friend" status! Rod
  14. Thanks Brian! The color scheme sounds great Now I'll have to search for one of those. I am really falling in love with these older 60's, non-Camaro, Chevelle, Nova body-styles. They've been forgotten for the most part. I'll be watching your progress with anticipation! Rod
