Hawk312
I think this may have fallen off the radar for a lot of us since it was first announced months ago. I noticed, as was rumored, that Revell now has this listed as an August release! I would love to see what is inside whenever you guys get ahold of one. I probably wont get mine until sometime in September regardless. Here`s the link: http://www.revell.com/model-kits/cars/85-2623.html Thanks. Kaleb
I possibly will get mine early September. I can not wait until my birthday wooo. Yes there is still a kid in me. Also I have only had 1 1:12 scale kit in my life will this one be curbside? or a detailed engine I figure with 130 parts surely it has an engine. Chuck Kourouklis
Oh, not to worry. The preview shots have shown a very nicely detailed engine and bay. 'Tween this 'n that Hudson, August is shaping up to be a mighty big month...
niteowl7710
I think based on that two week shipping window, we shouldn't expect to see the Hudson here till September by the time it takes the slow boat from China (pun intended)... If you want this kit, then it's a good August, otherwise for Revell it's a giant snooze festival. What are the other options, the re-pop of the '32 Ford and Snap-Tite Lamborghini Diablo Round 2 is supposed to kick out the glue kit of the Polar Lights Batmobile and the AMT Tall "T" this month...exciting for some, snoozing again over here for me. Be interesting to see if those LHS that carry RoG products if we can really find the Audi R8 Roadster...and for those of us who can, I'm taking even money bets that at iHobby it will be re-boxed for the U.S. for this winter. They really need to be clearer on what things will and won't get a U.S. box. I don't mind paying the $35 for the RoG box, unless I could have it for $18 in a U.S. box. I am listless this fall...several mainline releases still aren't out, or announced from Revell, bring on iHobby so I have something to look forward to in the Spring
ra7c7er
Not a fan of the Mustang but it's cool to see Revell releasing something big scale. Perhaps if it sells well they will consider more new big stuff.
Chuck Most
I'd be happy if they just reissued some of their existing big scale stuff more often. I'm starting to get into 1:12 and 1:16, and I'm pretty sure I'll be getting one of these, but I'd love to see some more big scale kits from Revell (and MPC/AMT and Lindberg, for that matter) put back into circulation. TurboKitty
With this being 1:12 scale (with the potential for a lot of detail), does it really only have an opening hood? No opening doors or trunk as well? Seems like kind of a bummer. Yes, one could always open them, but you'd think this would have all the bells and whistles right out of the box for being a brand new tooling
kelson
I'm going to buy one or two for sure,i've seen on Ebay a vendor taking preorders but the price is a little to much for me.It's to bad there is no building of a test shot in the Mcm mag or Forum like when the 69'nova was released or the 72'Cutlass,that really generated lots of interest. Kaleb
I've seen the price around 55 to 60 bucks. And for a skill level of three it should have open doors.
Nova-ss
I have some pictures I took when I saw it at GSL this year.Scale Motor Sports is making a detail set for it as well.it looked nice to me and plan on building a few as well.the pictures I have I'll put them here and its test shots....no paint on it.Thank ya,Chris
Nova-ss
There is two others but it will not let me post them....sorry for how big they are. Thanks,Chris Edited August 4, 2011 by Nova-ss
Kaleb
That is sweet, I am going broke just looking at the list of upgrades
gasman
I can't wait for this one, I am a lot more interested in this one then the Moebius Hudson.
Luc Janssens
I saw the build up at I-hobby last fall, and fell in love with it.... I'll order one later this year, to put in under the Christmas tree, chances are that some aftermarket updates sets will be available by then. jaydar
I have one on order but i am really upset about the low part number of 130. For a 1/12 car this is screaming at me that the detail will be soft with large parts taking the place of smaller more detailed parts. I hope the aftermarket really does this big. joe. That is sweet, I am going broke just looking at the list of upgrades Where did you see upgrades? thanks, joe.
Nova-ss
When I was at GSL this year I also talked with Scale Motor Sports.they told me that they were making different detail sets for this kit.they said it would be available in the later half of the year.the think I remember them aying there was going to be four diffferent sets to buy.you would choose how far you wanted to detail this kit.I have looked on the site but nothing about it yet....but I was told by Scale Motor Sports that they were doing it.so it hopefully will be out soon. Thanks,Chris
Kaleb
I seen the list that will be available, not actual prices. But knowing what P.E. and wheels cost on 1:24 I am can imagine what they would cost.
The Creative Explorer
I was reading through this topic and started thinking the exact same thing as Khart for me. 55 dollars for a 1/12 kit is amazing. I do remember that the 1/8 Deuce was recently being offered for 99 dollars, and that is a reissue. This is completely new molding. Yes, the part count is low, but on the other side: We are modellers, aren't we? So why would we worry about putting some detail in it of our own. That said, I looked at the list of goodies in the picture of the GSL and my wallet already screams many deaths. That SMS set looks quite costly, I wouldn't be suprised if it doubled the kit-price. Kaleb
Is it really the amount of parts in a kit? or what it looks like in the end?
Chuck Most
Is it really the amount of parts in a kit? or what it looks like in the end? Took the words right out of my mouth! Yeah, opening doors and trunk would be nice in this scale, but as has been said, how much would that add to the price? I think that's about the only reason most kits, even the larger scale versions, do not include such features. Some of the old AMT and MPC kits featured this, but the jamb detail and hinges were almost afterthoughts. Yeah, today, I'm sure it could be done more convincingly, but at what price point? A sealed hood would be ridiculous, but since all of the models I build spend 99.9% of their time with any operable panels they may have closed, I can live without those features. Besides, there's always the option of opening them up myself if I so fancy!
Kaleb
I found this, check that for detail
Kaleb
I found it for 55 including shipping. O happy day....my wife said she was going to buy it for my birthday and that means the money I get from my parents goes to the goodies for the car if they have it. Too bad the speaks that Lownslow have are not big enough in scale to go in the trunk of the car.
jaydar
Is it really the amount of parts in a kit? or what it looks like in the end? Clearly the most important thing is how it looks in the end. I just don't think you get to a good end with 130 parts. The molds can only get so tight on big parts. I think there will be a lot of big parts. True that is how they kept the price down but since i was only going to build one price was not a major concern. joe.
Harry P.
Geez, for a 1/12 kit, those molded-in wipers are pretty cheesy. Oh well... I guess there's a reason the kit only retails for 70 bucks.
Harry P.
I'm looking at the pic of the built model and I don't see anything that offends me. Looks to me like it has a better ride height and better tires than Revell's 1/25th scale Mustangs. If this one sells well, how about a 1/12th scale Camaro as a companion piece? And a 1/12 Challenger to complete the trio.
