Sixties Sam
Hey, all, My friend Jimmy bought an 08 Mustang, and wanted to customize it a little on a budget. He likes old Fords, so he lifted the teardrop bulge from an old 66 galaxie, and stuck it on his hood, and two "porthole" windows from a 56 T-Bird to replace the stock side windows. He swapped his stock wheels for a set of big & little's from a friend who had a hot rod to lower the front end and give the 'Stang a meaner stance. That was cheaper than hacking up the suspension! He had it shot with orange mist and gloss black paint, and stuck on some clear lens Euro taillights and a bar grille from J.C.Whitney's. The engine is all stock, and the teardrop is just for looks. Heck, he didn't even cut a hole in the hood for it! He's going cruising downtown with it tonight. It's warmed up to a balmy 40 degrees here in PA, so maybe some chicks will be out and admire him in his new Mustang! Yeah,....sure they will! Yeah, I live in my own little world, but it's okay, they know me here! Sam BTW, Jimmy's car started out as a Revell Bullitt Mustang kit, and Jimmy is made of plastic! Sixties Sam
Pretty cool idea! I like it. How did you like the new Revell Mustang kit, any problems? Kyle, the Revell Mustangs are great kits. I built the 06 last year as a replica of my son's real one. I bought the Bullitt version to get the correct wheels for my son's replica. This custom was built from the Bullitt kit. They go together well, and are nicely detailed. The headlights were a tight fit, but a little filing down fixed that easily. Sixties Sam
Very cool, Sam. A good mix of old and new, and different! Thanks, Randy. Your Challenger inspired the orange mist & black color scheme. I hope you don't mind me (sort of) copying it! Sam
