Glue on Windshield?

Recommended Posts

Thanks for the suggestion ill have to give it a try.....and no I wasn't using superglue but the testors glue in the tube but with no tools or anything to keep everything neat

Well, the reason I asked is because more often than not when a fingerprint of glue gets on the glass, it's because the vapors from the cyanoacrylate attach themselves to a previously unseen fingerprint. In your case follow Ray's advice above and i'll add as you're sanding be sure to back the window up with a solid surface to work against. Holding the glass in your hand will only allow the piece to flex and cause more damage to it. Also place a piece of wax paper between it and the surface you're sanding on.

You didn't mention which kit, but as long as the glass isn't an unusual shape, you are probably better off replacing it with thin clear plastic. You can get it in sheets at the hobby shop or off any product packaging. People even cut up plastic coke bottles. To avoid the same glue issue, use either a white glue for windows or double sided tape to install your windows.
