Historic Racing Community Build

Yes, and then, since there is no pressure, maybe the finished products are better, because no one is hurry. I like building without deadlines, always for example, if model car show is on the next weekend, I'm getting hurry, and maybe the finished product is not as good, as it could be... The Cars Of Rock 'n' Roll and County Music is a great community build, but my progress is just too slow, because the Merc' needs lots of work. The body needs to be sanded, and filled again, and chassis maybe needs some cutting, not sure of that yet, but stuff like that... It would be great to have that as open-ended CBP.

No sooner said than done! I just went to that CBP and revised it so that the deadline is gone. Anybody looking in on this CBP and wants to get in on the other one is more than welcome!

Little update to RS V8 Corvette. I put some putty to the body, and now it's getting closer to primering, but there's still lots of sanding left. Some chassis work also is coming ahead. How about the other projects, I'd like to see some progress of them too...?

I'm in the process of moving but I should have my desk/bench done soon. I have the kit already so that isn't an issue. I'll go with a '63 Volkswagen Beetle... Yes, Herbie! I need to decide on an engine. Herbie came with a few different engines from a Porsche 356 engine to a dual carbed 1835cc engine. I think I have a stock 356 motor hanging around... :) Does Jimmy Flintstone have a Buddy Hacket character?

i suppose this gives me a reason to get a couple more builds started/finished.

i have a total of 3 i'd like to enter.

Sauber C9 Mercedes

Toyota Tom's 84C LeMans

Peugeot 205 Turbo 16 rally car (the kit was produced in 85 so it CAN'T be newer than 1990!)

if i can only choose one it'll be the sauber c9.

i do have a couple other builds taking priority though.

Tom, Mark and Patrik, you are all in. You can join with as many models, as you want, and I believe, that Locost is alright. We race with them, that's true and that's why it's Ok. I add your names to the entry list, thanks for joining in! ;)

As of now I am waiting for the aftermarket stuff to show up in the mail and I will continue work on the sauber Mercedes. The engine is close to done if anything. The body is painted and half of the decals are done. The parts I am expecting are the photo etch and carbon fiber decals.

Started on the Locost frame to day. Locked at the Tamiya Super seven and camed to the conclusion that the body is far to thick. So im gonna build the space frame and dress it whit sheet styrene in stead. Pics to come when im a little longer in the build.

I've never tried automotive colors for a model built. Found some Krylon white for the bug. While visiting my parents, I also found my Porsche engine and it's from the Carerra kit (DOHC) so I'm not sure if I'm going the Porsche route. May try Webers on the VW engine. Again, Herbie had quite a few engines in him. Still looking for Buddy Hacket. I may make two if I can find another bug in the next week. One normal and the other in 'halves'....
