codie27
So I bought this Revell snap kit that seems to be slowly transforming itself into something else...at first I couldnt quite figure it out..but the longer it goes on the more Im seeing resemblances to a 56 Buick...Ill be keeping a close eye on this one and taking pics of its transformation. johnbuzzed
I'll be watching. Will you be using a Buick engine for power?
codie27
Thanks for the interest so far guys...Ive made some progress here so I thought Id share where im at. I cut out the 57 bonnet/hood and used a 55 Chev bonnet for its hump as it better resembles a Buick bonnet. Tonight i finally sanded down the right side and began to make it mirror the left...a looooong way to go yet but Im really enjoying this one. I dont think I'll be aiming at a 100% correct Buick..but more a custom with a bit of artistic license taken.
codie27
I'll be watching. Will you be using a Buick engine for power? If Im still enthused after the bodywork and find it needs more detail then yes, I have a Buick engine from the AMT 40 Ford that I have put aside which I will use...since Ive alrady opened the bonnet it may happen lol. JTalmage
If this turns out really nice it would be cool to have it casted if a resin body doesnt exist.

misterNNL
I notice that you hace changed the windshield posts. What glass will be be using now ?
codie27
I'll be using the kit glass still,as it stretches far enough around to the original quarter vent window position to fill the new shape,it will just need some sanding to follow the rake of the new posts. Ace-Garageguy
Looking really good. I like the big 'ol pre-'58 Buicks, and of course there's nothing available in 1:25 styrene. Nice work.
Randy D
Hi Codie, Well this is certainly something you don't see everyday. You have a really nice eye for custom body work!!! Look forward to more on this one. Randy

Lunajammer
I dont think I'll be aiming at a 100% correct Buick..but more a custom with a bit of artistic license taken. I think that's the right choice. You'll have more fun drawing on Buick influences than trying to convert it to a Buick. It'll make a cooler custom that way too.
