The odds are that most of the builders here have used decals I drew, even if the sheet did not have the logo on it. Most of the artwork I have done was for production kit decal sheets, and quite a few aftermarket sheets. While cars are my passion, I also do aircraft. I also create the art for tampo printing and paint masks for production die-casts (of all sizes) and the AFX slot cars. It is in no way a commentary on how I view myself or my modeling. My email had been Glennnnn and I got sick of saying "glenn with 5 'N's" My daughter liked dragons, so it was pretty simple. The avatar is my favorite FED the astro enterprises "magicar". It was also the first "real" sculpting too. That would be the blower scoop, done in Aves epoxy sculpt, then resin casted. I sold that body for a pretty penny! LOL!! Somewhere along the line it changed to Lord Air Guitar. I eventually went into DJing car shows and the Air Gtar Entertainment company was born. Spelled that way because of the amount of letters you are allowed on a license plate. Here is my first DJ hauler And my second hauler And my latest hauler See a pattern here? LOL. The avatar is a shot from my fave anime, InuYasha. The girl is kagome and the boy is the half demon InuYasha. He is a dog demon and Inu is the japanese word for dog. Guys these are some great stories, I am really enjoying this topic. Even the ones that seem obvious have neat stories behind them. This is also the first forum I have used my full name on. Actually the full name was one of the reasons I joined, were a community why not act like it. Its great here and I have met some awesome people, heck I even like deputy Harry P. It stuck and my family calls me that to this day, so I thought why not. AS for an avatar, haven't figured how to do that yet. Still learning this computer stuff. In grade school there were two Ryan's and 2 Bryan's in my class and we always used our last initial to tell us apart as they were all different. When I signed up here my full name was already taken by the gentleman who does resin casting so I kept it simple and old-school (for me). I found the avatar online somewhere and always liked it as I'm into alien stuff, though strangely not models...yet. It's a spin on the x-files. The picture behind the alien at the desk is a space shuttle and it says "I want to believe". I like to think aliens on other planets feel the same way we do about the possibility of life elsewhere. I first set up that Mosler over four years ago and it has never lost a race! Even though it is a totally stock as it came from the factory parts wise. I just went through the car and set it up to have a perfectly flat chassis, and friction free bushings and properly meshed gears. I made sure I trued the wheels and Tyres to where they are perfectly true, and I replaced the rear tyres with Yellow Dogs( which is legal under the rules for factory GT) I also replaced the front tyres with Slotit Zero Grips. The rules actually allow changing the gears and wheel to metal one, but I have retained the factory plastic gears, as they are lighter. When I first started as an apprentice they nicknamed me 'Mung' & it stuck. I found out years later it was short for 'Humungous'....... I guess they must have snuck a peek in the shower room.... lol.. The hyper was added later when I was racing 1/8 scale nitro buggies... ie: Hyper 7, Hyper 8 Glenn... How cool. Your 1:1 ride is a '59 Dodge...!!! I had a '59 Dodge Coronet from Oct. '96 thru 2005. It was my faithful daily driver for almost 4 years until I had a stroke in 2000 when I stopped driving. I sold it in 2005. What engine is in yours...?? Mine had a 326. Good luck with yours. I own (owned as I'm about to sell it...) a 74 Plymouth Duster with a 225 Slant 6. A friend of my was giving me a hard time about keeping the Slant engine in the car instead of swapping in a V-8, among the comments he made that night was something to the affect, " Get rid of that Slant, its a dinosaur...". After hearing that comment and variations of it several times I responded by saying, "Yeah, it is a dinosaur....a Slantasaurus Six" kind of a play on Tyranasaurs Rex. I also have another friend who drag races a Slant 6 car and he calls his car Slantzilla. When I finally got on the internet, I needed a screnename and Slantasaurus just seemed to work. A couple of the forums changed formats, and I couldn't get that handle to work anymore, so I changed it. AS for the avatar, that was taken at George Barris shop in Hollywood. The Batmobile I am in is the parade version. His grandson gave us a tour of the shop.
