Evilbenny
Great Job! Its nice to see a stock version. I was getting tired of seeing over the top custom sled's.
Jordan 191
Maybe everyone who ever built a '49 Merc lead sled should use this thread to repent. I'll start: I built one once...I thought it was fun at the time...I was young...I used putty.
FASTBACK340
Your beautiful Merc build reminds me of the time I saw a dead-stock Willy's Americar at Englishtown for the Vintage Drags. Seeing a car stock that's an icon when modified is definitely an attention getter. Not to mention your builds are stunning..... dimaxion
I don't go here often . I spotted this thread name while scrolling down . I am a Factory Stock builder . So , I looked & smily face ( ) !. I like this build . Most excellent , just right . The "Peter Green" looks like Factory ? I have lost my Paint chart . I am re-taking pics of my collection . If , that is a big if , I'll post my '49 Mercury here . Alaska Blue w/gray guts . A replica of the James Dean car in ; 'Rebel Without a Cause" before modifications . Thanx .. MAGNUM4342
CHUCK! I am aghast! I'm non-plussed! My plussed has never been so non! How dare you build a STOCK '49 Mercury. I don't know what's gotten into you but you have broken one of the top two rules in the car world. The other one would be building a '57 Chevy without flames! It just isn't done sir! I'm done speaking ironically now. THAT is one beautiful Mercury. That paint is flawless! You've earned five out of five from me. B)

Lovefordgalaxie
Loved it!!! I built one too, only mine is in black. Can post a picture if you want to. Never liked butchered Mercs, like the stock, as they left the factory.

sbk
It's so good to see one done up this nicely, like it came from the factory!
carrucha
Good job. I agree with the others on how refreshing it is to see a factory stock 1949 Mercury.

randyc
Very nice! I too, did one in that color a couple years ago. the revell kit makes custom so easy that it seemed a shame to not have a stock one to go with it. Randy
